  1. Yea, it went from "There's a chance we get Ojo, Turntine, Roseborough and Krempin in one class" to only getting Turntine. We sure aren't helping our chances with Malakai Lee with this on field performance. The one that stung me personally was Roseborough because we probably missed out on him because of Ojo's deception. That whole thing just stunk but, at the end of the day, Flood's not producing a dominant line and he has every resource at his disposal to do it. He's got to go.
  2. Ever since the vaunted 2022 class of offense lineman arrived, all we heard was a narrative about how good the offensive line was..............but was it EVER that good? Kelvin Banks was awesome but who else? In 2024, we had an experienced line and that is more valuable than people realize (aggies will probably prove that this year). But was it great? Hell no. They couldn't get push in short yardage / goal line situations and when they faced elite defensive lines (Georgia, Ohio State) they were clearly over matched. I've defended Flood on here before but the more I think about, I'm usually using draft picks to justify my defensive of him. He did produce draft picks, but was the on field product EVER that good as a whole? Sark is going to have to let Flood go after this season. I would love to be wrong but there is ZERO reason we can't have at least an average offensive line. This is coaching.
  3. I kept my eyes on the offensive line last night and something popped up in my mind. Some of the Olineman seemed a little short in the torso and long in the legs. Maybe I'm just seeing things but when Cambell was running down the sidelines on a run play I noticed that he doesn't have that typical low center of gravity that's considered ideal for interior guys. Then I started looking at the line in general ................ That's often called being "Hi Cut". I see this term in NFL combine analysis and it's often considered a negative in run blocking. Also, when the Coleman brothers and Daniel Cruz got involved they actually seemed more torso/leg proportional than the starters did. Maybe I'm just reaching in an attempt to understand the lack of run game push. I'm open to being completely wrong here. Has anybody noticed that our lineman seemed a little hi cut?
  4. 4 starters from last year made NFL rosters. If that doesn't buy a coach a little more grace than this, I don't know what does.
  5. My thoughts: DBs - Until we play a seasoned QB, we don't really know if our DBs have gelled and their communication is comparable to last year. OSU was protecting Sayin. He wasn't asked to scan the middle of the field and make a decision. LBs - Seemed assignment sound to me. I think we have a good group that's only going to get better. DLs - Very good overall against the runs. Didn't step up on goal line a short yardage situations but perhaps we've been a little spoiled from last year. I like our DTs and I think they are only going to get better as the coaching staff figures out the right combinations. EDGEs- I'm not sure. Sayin did very little dropping back and scanning the field. I'm going to assume we have a very good pass rush though. OSU pretty much conceded that to us via their scheme. Offensive Line - I am thrilled with our run game in general but as usual, once we are in obvious short yardage situations, something happens and I am baffled. Sark needs a short yardage consultant. RBs - Very impressive. Other teams aren't going to have the same defensive back field OSU had and are going to be forced to cheat their way up to the line of scrimmage. That will play into Arch's strengths. WRs TEs - I was surprised how little they got opened, but again, OSU's defensive backs are the strength of the team. So I'm not sure how I feel yet. I'm excited about Livingston though. Wingo needs to grow a little. QB - Ugh. IMO, Quinn Ewers had one strength and only one strength - hitting receivers in stride with short passes. Arch is inaccurate and puts way too much mustard on his short throws. He needs to calm the eff down and watch some film on Ewers. I'm not saying Ewers was a great QB (he had zero pocket presence, zero ability to improvise and couldn't throw a deep ball) but Arch HAS to improve on those short passes Sark designs to scheme WRs open. If he doesn't do that, we are going to get behind the chains way to often. I simply don't know what to think of Arch yet. I'm anywhere from "He'll learn from this and become a good QB" to "I hope KJ Lacy matures fast." I'm just shocked.
  6. I spent 30 days at a Longhorn ranch a couple of years ago. It was there that I realized what "horns down" really means. If one of those bad boys suddenly bends his head down and shakes the horns, it's time to give him some space. Trust me people, a Longhorn staring at you with his horns up is way safer than one with his horns down. He's warning you. So keep throwing those "horns down" signs. People in the know are laughing at you!
  7. Yea, that was a bad title I read. It literally said the injury wasn't serious. Then, the article simply described him getting helped off by 2 trainers and then quoted a coaches saying they didn't have enough information to comment yet. That's a far cry from the injury not being serious.
  8. Uh oh. They are replacing both starting DTs from last year anyway. This dude was a 5 star. Good luck young man! Heal fast (just wait until week 2 please) EDIT: I just read (from a headline of a different article) the injury is not serious. EDIT (of the edit): The headline said it wasn't serious but all the article provided was the coach said he doesn't have any information yet. I hate headlines sometimes.
  9. Caleb Williams Mocks TCU's QB for crying after a loss. One year later, he's not only crying after a loss, but he's crying in his mommy's arms. What a hypocrite. I have no problem with crying after a loss............until you start mocking others for it.
  10. I feel most sites underrate (not underappreciate) Wisner. The SEC leading rusher wasn't supposed to start and wasn't ready with the requisite body armor. Imagine how good he's going to be with it. I think he's our starter and stays our starter (with many more relief pitchers ready to spell him)
  11. CJ, You owe me a new pair of underwear.
  12. Wes Huff (amazing biblical scholar) Joe Rogan (if the guest interests me), Flagrant (if the guest interests me) Various Christian podcasts (Bill Johnson especially). National sports stuff is still stuck in the formulaic, legacy-media style format which just absolutely bores me to death (can't stand listening to folks speaking in sound bytes......especially when they've done it for so long that they don't realize they are doing it.............it's like watching zombies walk) In this new age of media, authenticity is currency. That's why long-form podcasts are a hit (you can't fake it for 3 hours). I sense authenticity from Bobby so that's why I chose OTF as my lone sports source (I'm only a fan of the Longhorns.......no other teams, pro or college, interest me)
  13. Bobby, Does this essentially cause a wave of "renegotiations" with kids already verbally committed?
  14. It can't hurt but, given we're going against Oregon, it doesn't help either. Money is no object to either school.
