    If Sark has the gonads to let go of a solid Grade B DC, Venables and Elko should step up and replace Grade B QBs if they are serious in 2026. I hope they don't. Unless they both want to keep Grade B offenses. Or maybe switch to the Wishbone.

    Seems to me the only reason Texas should play big non-conference games is if they received special revenue for it. I never understood a conference getting member media rights for non-conf games. Let each school make their own deals for those games. That way schools could have a reason to schedule big games. Why should Vandy or South Carolina or Arkansas, for instance, benefit from Texas playing Buckeyes or Wolverines or Irish or Trojans or Nittany Lions?

    I may be considered a poor sport but I hope the Sooners and Farmers each lose significantly in the first round of CFP. It's bad enough that they flaunt their CFP appearances to us Horns, but first round wins would hurt. Ags losing to Miami is rough for me because Miami is way up on my "can't stand them" list. Anyone else feel same? Jim

    I contend the biggest factor in our record that hurt our CFP rating was the drubbing by Georgia. 1) A 25 point loss was disgraceful 2) any type win against UGA would have made us 10-2. And another Top 10 win.

    In all practical terms, isn't NIL now almost totally unregulated? Aren't we truly in the twilight zone? I haven't heard of anyone's NIL being turned down for being outside of "true market value."

    Probably not since the pattern is 2 non-P4 and one super P4. My comments reflect my interest. Thanks for your comment, Bobby.

    On Texas' 2027 FB schedule, there are only 2 contracted out-of-conference games, so far. I'd love to see a mid-level P4 school like NC St or Wake or Cal or Stanford fill the hole. As home game for us. Any thoughts? [NO Texas Tech or Houston]

    Weren't we expecting too much from the Texas offense vs OSU? Only one returning starter on Oline. Only 3 of top recievers from last year. New TE to replace Helm. A RB returning from triple knee ligament damage. A QB with the weight of the world (so to speak) with Only two starts (against far inferior teams) to his name. And a playcaller who is inept inside the opponents 20 yard line. We expected too much vs a traditional supreme program with consistent higher regarded D. And led by a brand new DC with deep NFL experience. We'll improve a lot before Florida. 🤘

    Just a little salute to my long-deceased, Ohio State grad father-in-law (lived to 100). Great guy. He would have enjoyed today's game: his home Buckeyes s his adopted Longhorns. I'm going to place his fav "O" red hat somewhere in the TV room.
