  1. Playing Texas Sep 5 doesn't resolve the situation Sark was referring to. Sark said the in-state DI schools not in the SEC had soft conference schedules yet winning conf title gave them AQ route to CFP. We all know that statement is true. First, Cody Millionaire should fight to dump the AQ in CFP. Then Tech can counter the weak conference scenario by 1) scheduling one SEC, one B1G and one ACC team all in non-conference games in one season. OR 2.) joining a big-boy conference, even if they must sacrifice revenue for a decade or two as cost of entry (like SMU route to ACC). Is Cody Billionaire afraid to schedule Vandy, Wisconsin and Duke all in 2027? Playing U of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and New Mexico in 2027 won't cut it. They need another NC game in 2027 after buying out both North Texas and NC State. Who do they schedule as third NC, Montana or Sac St or Maine? Or do they, say, travel to ND to play in South Bend for travel expenses? Or same to Oregon? Or same Penn St? Or same Miami? They should also start a major media and PR campaign to boost viewership of their televised games. They need more eyeballs than students, alumni. and Panhandle residents can provide.
  2. Let's see: • never, ever voluntarily play Tech in football (or any sport, for that matter). • repeat previous bullet. And Hell, they want Texas to give up a home game for them????
  3. I am fully on board if SEC and B1G football exits the NCAA. I want premium games. Play 10 conference games and 2 games from other conference (SEC or B1G). At end of season, have top 6 teams from each conference in playoff tourney. Top 2 SEC get bye, Top 2 from B1G get bye. SEC#3 plays B1G #6, SEC#4 vs B1G#5, etc. We don't stinkin' need ACC or MMA (sorry, B12) conference participation. ACC and B12 can do their own thing.

  4. IMO ... I support changes. 1. Kill all bowl games, they will have no value. 2. NO Automatic slots. 3. Reorg Committee. Raise number of participants so each member rates 1-30. From total votes, Top 24 in order are finalized. 4. Top 8 get Byes.
  5. I can't remember 1) when Arch hurt his foot (if it was ever revealed) and 2) when he started wearing that "leg sleeve." Any chance Arch was hurt early in the season and it took 5 games to adjust? Maybe the early woes were at least influenced by that foot? Just thinking.
  6. As an SEC member, I understand Texas (and other members) have handed their media rights over to the conference. I wish Texas would fight for all non-conference media rights in football to revert individually to members. That way UT can at least get paid well (astronomically, in some cases) for playing ar least one premier non-conference game each year. Why should conference members who play patsy non-c games financially benefit for Texas playing Buckeye St, Much, ND, etc?
  7. Same. ND should have no special status as independent.
  8. Would be very interesting to see total draft picks by P4 conferenc based ONLY on the bottom 8 schools in final conference standings. @CJ Vogel @Blake Munroe?
  9. Bobby and Hank showed, and talked, this graphic this afternoon on the OTF You Tube channel. SEC looks great but even better when you figure SEC has 2 less members than both B1G and ACC making their numbers. Average draft picks per member school: SEC. 5.44 B1G. 3.78 ACC. 2.11 Big 12 2.38
  10. You don't give up home games. And Tex/UO HAS to be in Dallas, period. No negotiations.
  11. Totally agree. Too early.
  12. Four of us in the dorm drew tickets together for the 1966 TCU game. Henry was an amateur photographer with a great telephoto lense. He got this Pic of Chris Gilbert on his 96 yd TD run. He gave me a print of it. I went over to Moore Hill Dorm, found Chris, got him to autograph it. He was so kind to do it and said he'd never seen that angle. Lordy, he was so good and a thrill to watch.
  13. Thanks Rocky. Also, I appreciate your questions/comments on the live shows. An the hats, especially Jordan's, are kickass!
  14. Somebody help me. I believe 26 UT players put their names in the portal this year and were there when it closed. Did any of them fail to find a landing place with another program?
  15. Ags lost Hill because they spelled his first name Aunt.
  16. All very subjective, of course.
  17. @Bobby Burton @Gerry Hamilton @Rod Babers Following up on your State of the Team podcast this afternoon, I was right there with you guys on grading the Transfer class as B++. I took it a step farther in getting a weighted average for returning team, net transfers, incoming frosh and coaching.
  18. Quick thought without total in-depth scrutiny: Make all student athletes employees of the NCAA, with requirement that they be enrolled at a member university, carry min of 12 hour per semester, making progress toward a degree. Set pay based on university generated media revenue. Then member institutions can add true NIL money opportunities.
  19. His parents are moving to Miami area.
  20. I became a Texas fan at 10 years old while watching, on b&w tv, Texas handle undefeated aTm with Heisman RB John David Crow. Nov 1957. So I claim to be a Lifetime Longhorn as a 78 year old grad and fan. Move over you one and done LTLLs!

Fan for 68 years, 1 month, 17 days ... and counting.

    Jim, BBA 1969

  21. I'm all sedated from an MRI. THIS TEXAS class looks superb. All in!

  22. I am for a well paid 65 scholly athlete roster for football. Then a 50 person mix low-paid ($200/mo ??) scholly and walk-on JV/Development squad for development and injury "call-up" availability. Also, let this latter group play 5 games vs other similar DI squads or JUCOs or full DII teams.
