    I worry about Quinn's lack of athleticism (body quickness & reactive quickness) in the NFL. Missiles are flying every play at you. And then when that happens, are you an off script playmaker? Feet or arm (throwing guys open under duress). He's going to have to truly prove that at the next level.

    A big new and key recruiting rule for the 2026 class and beyond In the last cycle, head coaches and assistant coaches could meet at high schools with prospects and families in the 2025 cycle in January. In the 2026 class, the next step has been taken. Head coaches and assistants can now make true in-home visits at the residence of prospects in the month of January. That means following the conclusion of the season, the Texas staff will be going in-home with 2026 prospects that Texas deems top targets.

    Drew Allar upside is highest IMO ... he just starting to ascend in year two as a starter. He will be in the 2026 draft.

    Yahya Gaad commitment timeline update Just received word from Medina (Tenn.) South Gibson 2026 EDGE Yahya Gaad that he is pushing back his scheduled Thursday commitment until late January or early February. He plans to visit Texas again in late January (likely the 25th when Texas has junior day).

    The tough thing when looking at the bowl games other than the CFP ... who is actually playing vs. who has opted out? How many guys have hit the portal that affects depth. CFB is in a bad spot in meaningless games now IMO National Defensive POY Kyle Kennard and RB Rocket Sanders opted out for the bowl game. Two of the top 4-5 players for South Carolina. The flip side is Michigan had guys opt out, and won.

    Correct. I just don't see it from a coaches perspective ... that would mean a team was decimated by injury at a position or in the portal. I get what you are thinking for sure.

    If Texas wins Wednesday, that's a few more practices for Lance, Justus, Brevard and Spence ... Lance and Justus will essentially get two spring practices (as in 10+ practices twice) prior to August camp. Huge

    We mentioned Lance Jackson, Justus Terry, Michael Terry III and Cole Brevard as practicing with Texas currently. Arkansas transfer LB Brad Spence is also practicing with the team per Coach Sark today. All five players traveled with the team. They will be on the sidelines for the game in street clothes.

    Texas Jr. Day is set ... Forney High 4-star+ running back Javian Osborne told OnTexasFootball that Coach Choice and staff have invited him to visit January 25th. That will be one January junior day for the Longhorns. Note: OTF believes a second date is possible CFP playoff run dependent.
