  4. Couple of late lunch recruiting notes Things are heating up with Alief (Texas) Hastings EDGE pass rusher Smith Orogbo. Orogbo, 6-5 and 218 pounds, tells OnTexasFootball that his visit April to Texas will include a number of his coaches at Hastings High. This comes ahead of a June 14-16 official visit. OTF believes Texas has as good of a chance as any at winning out for the Houston area fast riser. Orogbo's 2025 teammate Ike Okafor will also visit Texas April 6. Okafor, 6-3 and 250 pounds, has official visits scheduled to Arizona State and California. Baylor is among those also in pursuit. Texas hasn't offered, but continues to evaluate. Hopewell (Va.) IMG Academy 2025 safety Major Preston told OnTexasFootball that he is not making a visit to Texas April 13 any longer. Texas informed Preston that they have others that are priority targets. If you are a Kade Phillips fan ... this is good news for you in Texas' pursuit of the Hightower High defensive back. Richmond (Texas) Randle 6-3, 285 pound defensive lineman Chace Sims remains scheduled to visit April 6. We shall see if Texas pushes for an OV this weekend.
  5. Jordon Davison likely April 6. I think there will be more additions early this week.
  6. Going to have a defensive recruiting board in a little while. Brown and Sharma are such high end guys because of skill set/versatility. Zion and Autry are those big body guys you truly need in the SEC
  7. That's not really up to me. Last year there was so much explosive news going on ... Ron Holland and AJ Johnson, Dillon Mitchell and draft process, building out almost entire roster ... this year is going be much more calm in explosive news. Texas has less moving parts vs. last off season, and there is feeling out where Texas actually sits in the portal in terms of pecking order.
  8. OTF adding Lufkin's Zion Williams to the list as well.
  9. Zion Williams junior HUDL: http://www.hudl.com/v/2MWDc5
  10. Top DL target visiting April 6 The Texas Longhorns April 6 visitor list continues to add big time names. One day after OnTexasFootball confirmed that Auburn commit Malik Autry (Opelika, Ala./High) s scheduled to be in Austin this weekend, another 4-star defensive lineman is confirmed for Saturday. Lufkin (Texas) High's Zion Williams told OnTexasFootball last night that he plans to be in Austin Saturday with his mom. Williams, 6-4.5 and 325 pounds, will also make an official visit to Texas June 21-23. The main competition for Texas with the East Texas stout interior lineman is LSU. Williams made an unofficial visit to LSU in March, and plans to be back April 13 for the Tigers Spring Game. A June official visit (likely June 7-9) will also happen. Texas A&M and TCU are also in the mix for the latest high-end talent out of Lufkin High. TCU will receive and official visit May 3-5, and Texas A&M is expected to receive a June official visit. Williams has 18 known offers headed into April. That offer list includes SEC programs Texas, LSU, Texas A&M, Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee.

  12. USC is making some big pushes on guys in the last 2-3 weeks trying to get guys on board... a couple of the guys they recently got committed are already lining up other visits.
  13. Going to have defensive recruiting board Monday!
  14. 1000%. Bigs that can help stretch the floor better be true difference makers with feet in the paint.
  15. Cam is going to be a heavy minute player in year one. He's a legit future NBA draft pick talent.
  16. For sure. And has a terrific motor. He's a very high-end DT prospect
  17. Josiah Sharma junior HUDL: http://www.hudl.com/video/3/16252371/64f8ee26da50cd0ad85e71e8
  18. Folsom (Calif.) High defensive lineman and OnTexasFootball 4-star Josiah Sharma made his first visit to Texas Friday. Sharma, 6-3.5 and 323 pounds with power and explosive ability, was accompanied on the visit by his mom and a few Folsom High coaches. Per a source Sunday, Sharma and his mom had a tremendous visit to Texas. From watching the spring practice, to meeting with Steve Sarkisian, spending time with Kenny Baker for the first time and time spent in the facilities around people and players in the program. Baker was said to have made a strong impression on Sharma and his mom. Sharma walked away from the visit with a belief that Baker and Texas could help him develop and maximize his potential. An official visit to Texas is locked in. The source wasn't sure if it was going to be June 14-16 (bumping Utah) or June 21-23, but June 14-16 is most likely. The visit to Texas was the third of the week during Folsom High's spring break. Sharma and his mom visited Alabama and Oklahoma prior to Texas. Alabama and Texas are at the top of the list with Washington, Oklahoma, Utah and Oregon also receiving mention. In closing, OnTexasFootball believes the Longhorns are very much in this recruitment with a legitimate shot.

  20. OTF feels good about Auburn DL commit Malik Autry being in Austin April 6.
  21. Smith Orogbo added to the list. OTF had broked that news a while back.
  22. And add in need for a second big if the right guy is possible. Texas better find a big that can help space the floor ... this is so key in the game today. If Texas takes two bigs that are only paint 12-15 feet players ... not ideal offensively.
  23. Even though Tre Johnson will have ball in hand some in the ball screen action ... Texas needs a initiating PG out of the portal IMO. An initiator 75-80% of the trips down the floor.
