  1. Not Dallas Cowboys "all in" but actually go "all in" for one more portal DT?
  2. Until Kirby Smart and Ryan Day retire/resign/get fired or poached, probably not but 3-5 every year is doable. Plus if Texas signs just 22-23 HS guys a year instead of 25+, hard to out recruit programs that take 25-30 highly rated HS guys per cycle.
  3. While not as extreme as the Baylor Briles situation, the fact that not just fans, but former and current players are saying they don’t want this guy on the team, yet he’s still being considered by UT is mind-boggling.
  4. Gus Cardova is a cuss word to most of the Longhorn fanbase now and for good reason. Love what Sark has done with this program since he got here, but he has to answer some tough questions if he takes on this kid straight out of high school knowing what we know about him now. Let him go to a "Last Chance U" type of situation for a year or two before transferring to b D-1 CFB program.
  5. I've seen other fanbases vilify this young man too, but not surprising. Ewers is a good QB and I would say at least 130 of the 134 teams in CFB would love to have him as their starter going into the 2024 season.
  6. Same. Plus it makes sense based on OL positions (2 OTs and 3 IOL).
  7. Same. Gotta get the big guys in the trenches, especially the ones in state.
  8. Seems like a Texas lock and no flip will occur. Great news.
  9. I don't bet on sports games, but if I were to bet this game, I would take Oklahoma and the points and not even think twice about it. I still think Texas will win though.
  10. I do not want Cordova. Hopefully, Sark has learned from the Billingsley and Hall experiments regarding these type of situations.
  11. If Texas took 5 OL every cycle, I wouldn’t be mad. I’d rather see them over recruit OL (and DL) than skill positions even if it means overall class rankings are lower and some of those guys hit the portal in a year or two.
  12. I like it because even though Sark is an offensive minded head coach, he understands the importance of having a well rounded roster on defense and special teams, too. He doesn't just focus on offense and nothing else. As long as Sark is the HC, Texas should be able to reload on offense through traditional HS recruiting and the transfer portal. I'm very impressed with the attention he's giving to the defensive side of the ball.
  13. That’s why you go get a guy like Kenny Baker.
  14. Most powerful words in the English language: "No" and Gerry Hamilton's, "Hi."
  15. That's what I'm talking about, PK! The midwest region is a great place to find good OL and DL prospects.
  16. Coach Baker already in his bag on the trail. Excellent work.
  17. Means nothing now. What's more important is developing these guys into future NFL draft picks and winning lots of games. This roster is loaded at almost every position group on offense, defense, and special teams.
  18. Love seeing Texas pursue ETX guys. Lotta talent in that part of the state.
  19. I remember watching that game and seeing that play happen live and being blown away at how Grant was able to track down the ball carrier there. Reminded me of this play by Larry Allen back in the '90s. Must get for Sark and co. if they can pull it off.
  20. Will make it all the more sweeter if Texas goes to Columbus 20 months from now a beats them similar to the way they did back in '05.
  21. All this and I think his strong ties to the state of Georgia will be useful on the recruiting trail. If he ends up being an ace recruiter but a slightly worse developer than Bo Davis was, this will be another nice hire by Coach Sark.
  22. Kirby Smart is a recruiting machine. Not surprised as he spent 7 years working under the great Nick Saban, and I’m sure Saban taught him a lot. Ryan Day struggles against Michigan are well-documented, but one thing he does very well is recruit at a high level. That being said, I think a #1 recruiting class for 2025 is possible. I know winning isn’t everything when it comes to how high school recruits choose a university to attend but beating Georgia in Austin and just having a great first season in the SEC will give Texas a better chance to make that happen.
  23. That’s correct. 247Sports allows you to select rankings based on “RECRUIT,” “TRANSFER,” and “OVERALL.”
