  1. Agreed, and what makes it worse is it is one of the big three sports in college athletics. I don't think people would care as much if this were golf, tennis, etc. I trust CDC to make it right both on the court with a thorough HC search and off the court with the supposed NIL limitations on this men's basketball program. If schools known as major football brands (Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Clemson, etc.) can have strong men's basketball programs, so can Texas. That's part of the reason he did not take the SMU gig. He has unfinished business and wants to grow his legacy even more in the eyes of Texas fans.
  2. Indiana men’s basketball = Nebraska football. Bobby Knight = Tom Osborne.
  3. Doubt he gets canned tomorrow, but his fate is sealed as soon as this season ends.
  4. They gotta open their checkbooks though. That will cure all 😂
  5. Yep, I bet Schaefer doesn’t have the budget of even Rodney Terry and his program’s floor is Elite Eight now.
  6. As a Cowboys fan, would be bittersweet. Would hate to see him play for a rival, but he has a great shot at winning rings as their organization actually gives a dern about winning.
  7. Yeah the opponent's HC could be auditioning for his new role tonight. Wife will probably be shopping for homes in Austin after tonight.
  8. He did have a good season, but he was true freshman. I think they want a portal CB with more experience if they take one.
  9. Have no fear, Arch Manning is here!
  10. Unless it’s Miriam Adelson and Patrick Dumont
  11. LFG! From the man himself. He knows he has unfinished business in football and has to right the wrong on the one stain on his UT AD legacy in men’s basketball.
  12. Hook'em, baby! You like that, Aaliyah Chavez!
  13. Who would’ve thunk OU and Texas both would’ve had to replace their head men’s basketball coaches in the same offseason?
  14. All of this because he’s a scapegoat to Adelson and Dumont’s plan to move the franchise to Vegas. I bet Silver was involved in this too.
  15. Would be a big loss if CDC takes that job. This is why title windows are not as long as you think, but the best programs in the country can win in spite of AD changes. Saban won titles at Alabama under three ADs. Bill Battle, then Mal Moore, and Greg Byrne, who is still Bama's AD under Kalen DeBoer. Ohio State football continues to prosper under multiple ADs. Would be worried, but I think Texas will be fine if CDC leaves as long as Sark is there.
  16. Between Bowman and Prothro, Texas seems to be in a decent spot to land the first 5-star HS TE recruit in the Sark era. Still a long way to signing day.
  17. You wanna be the top dog? Gotta beat the top dog. Most important game of their season coming up.
  18. Should be interesting. Although Texas should take at least 1 portal WR per cycle if they can, I want to see them develop their HS WR recruits more. Not to diminish the contributions of Bolden, Bond, and Golden. They were a big reason for Texas' success this past season. Adonai Mitchell was a big reason for Texas' success two seasons ago. Hopefully, that will be the case this upcoming season onward.
  19. The hiring of NFL coaches has been a good strategy by Sark so far. I don't expect anything different from the next hire. Only risk with that approach is if the coach has no prior CFB experience. Could take longer to build relationships with players and their families on the recruiting trail. You saw this happen with Kenny Baker after the sudden departure of Bo Davis to LSU. The great thing about hiring NFL guys is they're around the best players in the world, so they can show these kids what NFL caliber play looks like.
  20. And you'll have guys like LaAllan Clark, Kenny Baker, Johnny Nansen, and Pete Kwiatkowski working with them omg
  21. Was this partially influenced by the addition of LaAllan Clark to the defensive staff or do they want to get him more playing time as a true freshman and get a good return on their NIL investment? I know Clark and Kenny Baker specialize in teaching pass rush.
  22. This a bad look for LSU's recruiting in state. Texas should use the negative press as an advantage in recruiting the best HS prospects from the boot. Kelly's a decent HC, but a terrible human being.
