  1. I appreciate that Sark also is thinking about the big picture. If he offered Keelon, we would lost KJ for sure. And the likelihood that either one sits for 2 years behind Arch is slim. And with Trey in the program, you are not even guaranteed to be 2nd QB up. I trust in Sark's decision-making. Besides the last time we had a QB verbally committed (Jalen Milroe) and started offering other QBs like Nussmeier, we ended up with none.
  2. I wonder if an SMU team that goes 8-0 in conference but slips up in the ACC championship game get in over a 6-2 Big 10 or SEC team that couldn’t even make the championship game. The committee said the would try not to penalize teams that lost for the first time in the CCG. Texas need to win out AND win the CCG to keep controlling its on destiny
  3. my guess is CB Littleton
  4. With the transfer portal, never back off. The chance of him going to Oregon, getting home sick, or the situation changing and him deciding to be closer to home in Year two of Arch is too value not to keep building that relationship.
  5. So I have compiled a list of commits/targets and existing players ranked by their high school ranking. I did this to put into context what it means to sign a Ryan Wingo or lose a Michael Fasusi. If we sign a Javion Hilson, what does that mean in comparison to other player we have signed? I did this using the 247 composite rankings. Originally I was curious who the top 22 players were in the program. Then I wanted to see all the players ranked in the national top 70 (Ryan Niblet and above). Then Ended up ranking every with a .9000 and above rating. The talent has really improved over the years. Only 4 Seniors on the list (Quinn Ewers, Alfred Collins, Vernon Broughton, & Jake Majors). Juniors? Only 8 out of 63 players. The future of the team is really bright. We probably should be a little more excited about the future of Kobe Black. 6. Interesting that Bill Norton is never mentioned on these lists. Maybe I need to temper my hopes even more.
  7. HA HA HA. I thought it, but didn;t want to say it.
  8. Would be cool if he joined the Texas Staff to help evaluate talent
  9. He looked really good on the move. Moving sideline to sideline, decent swim move, decent penetration though he doesn't get home often. And he's playing the "best OL" in college football. But the power run game was killing him. running straight at him was working all night.
  10. I think the reason we are competing with Bo is largely perception. It looks like Sweat and Murphy went BOOM in their final year and became 1st and 2nd round picks, were consider the best tandem on DTs in the country and are now millionaires. And he is a firey coach that is well-liked. That perception is gold right now.
  11. I'm not "Not chill" on the issue. I just think it will be fascinating to watch. I also think this is slightly different in that Arch didn't participate in Elite 11, and Sark recruited Ewers as a transfer. This feels like the first time we have a chance to witness Sark having 2 high level options who both want to come to Texas and Sark having to make a decision that we get to watch. I like KJ. And Dia Bell vs Troy Huhn will also be something we get to see. The big difference here is Keelon is from Texas. From Duncanville. I just think it's interesting. You kinda wonder if KJ wasn't already committed, who Sark would have pushed for.
  12. It seems like Keelon Russell will be a great quarterback. He is from the state of Texas. And H seemed to want to be at Texas. All that on the surface could make this feel like a miss. The question becomes was he going to be willing to sit for 2-3 years? You're Elite 11 MVP and you don't see the field until after Arch and maybe Trey Owens? Do you stay? Will be the same question for KJ, but maybe the loyalty matters a bit.
  13. If Auburn's NIL deal is strong enough, does he have to be on scholarship? Why not keep him as a walk-on? I wonder if we will see NIL deals pop up at 1 time payments for players to leave. Almost like a buyout. $125K for Max Merrill to move on? Max seems like a great kid. But I'd trade him for a starting NT in a heart beat.
