At the beginning of the year, I thought 2027 was shaping up to be a pretty massive rebuild. I assumed Arch, Cam Coleman, Melvin Siani, Trevor Goosby and Brandon Baker would all be gone. And if the season went the way I think most of us expected, I thought there was a real chance all three starting WRs could leave for the NFL, with maybe Emmett Mosley being the one guy who came back and stepped into the WR1 role. Seven games in, I’m not nearly as sure anymore. I love the idea of Arch and Cam running it back for one more year with another season of experience and development. But the thing that may actually change my outlook on 2027 the most is the offensive line. If Brandon Baker and Melvin Siani both come back, and you already have Dylan Sikorski returning, suddenly Texas isn’t replacing all five offensive linemen. You’re probably looking at replacing two starters, maybe three depending on how things shake out at center and tackle. That feels like a very different situation than the full rebuild I was expecting in August. Right now, I think Arch, Baker, Siani, Cam and Emmett Mosley would all benefit from coming back. On D, I am also hoping Cryer & Mascoe return. Who do you think actually returns? And which guys do you think are more likely to leave than I’m giving them credit for?

I'm not sure this is about a total lack of discipline. It was stupid and misguided. But Colin Simmons has been nothing but a great example to Longhorn Nation up until this point. The question now is: how does he respond? Then we can get into character questions. It was stupid. Colin Simmons is 20 years old. He will learn and grow and be fine.

It's the OL missing assignments that concern me. That feels like coaching, and I worry that hasn't changed. Arch got healthy, new WRs, more time spent together, new OLs, all these transformed bodies, but did Flood get better? I have been a Flood supporter, but honestly and sincerely, I am starting to doubt.

Look, I have never been on the fire Coach Flood bus, but Brook Austin exposes some real concerning OL play. Especially late in the season. If Cole Hutson is the best option we have at LG, God help us. Texas Failed Arch Manning Last Year

I am all for supporting, monitoring, and extending resources to him. But he should not play college football again. You wanna make him a grad assisant and monitor his betting, cool. But his eligibility as a player should be done.

I would be more excited about CFP game over a marquee non conference game

I actually think they are both going to help each other. I also agree that if Mosely is in the slot, there is no reason he shouldn't have a monster year.

There has been a lot of talk about Sark moving from pure pocket passers to more mobile QBs like Arch, KJ, and Dia. Is Ty mobile?

I've heard that it MIGHT also be about pecking order. At best Parker was going to be #4 in the room behind Coleman(hopefully), Wingo, and Mosely. Then what fi they bring in a sslot like Scudero, then he is 5 and we all knwo Sark really likes to trust about 4 WR at a time.

For me, it wasn't that long ago we'd have been begging for a 9-3 season in the Sorry Big 12. We've more than held our own in the best league. It's not the result we wanted, but this team played it's heart out. And with the OL we had and no burner at WR, I think this team came pretty close to maximizing. True, we could have beaten OSU and should have beaten Florida, but still, they played their hearts off

Look, I hate it, but for some of these kids, NIL changes the lives of their whole family. I have changed jobs and left places I enjoyed to go somewhere that paid me more, because that meant my wife could leave a job that she hated and find a better job that maybe paid less, or to allow my kids to go to a better school. I'm just saying I think UNV is a dumpster fire, but I can't be mad a kid for making a business decision, even if it's not the one I would make.

Doesn't Wilcox coach the secondary and has a pretty good result working with PK? Our Secondary needs help
