  1. He was an important contributor this year, particularly considering the injuries that hit the RB room. I thought he was going to light the world on fire, but didn’t hit that Jonathan Brooks 2.0 level that I thought was a possibility. Scored 3 TDs combined in two national semis. The 77 yarder vs Clemson was a game changer too. Hook ‘em and best of luck J Blue!
  2. Bond’s on-field execution the 2nd half of the season was horrific. Drops, caused INTs, missed blocks, penalties, bad routes, etc. Texas was playing with somewhere between 9 and 10 players on offense when he was on the field. 10 when he’s a decoy and 9 when he’s contributing negative plays. I don’t know for certain, but it sure seems like he mentally checked out at some point. Disappointing for him and the team. Also has to cause serious pause for the NFL.
  3. Was really impressed by how reasonable concessions were in Atlanta. I’m guessing that won’t be true tonight.
  4. Y, I don’t think that was an accident. LOL!
  5. Being President of UT-Austin is a 5 year job. The political grind is real, across all the stakeholders (legislature, alumni, students, faculty, tax payers, etc). I’ve known Jay since before he became President and knew he would be a perfect fit. It’s too bad he’s leaving, but I’ve always understood that even he, as a proud alum, could only deal with the pressure of the job for so long. Wish him well and hope the next hire is as good or at least close. Also, understanding that athletics is the front porch of the university should be part of the search criteria. Hook ‘em
  6. Since the UGa game in mid October the defense has probably averaged giving up 4 points in the first half of games. Only Vandy and ASU have made double digits (10 each). You trust that defense no matter whom they line up against.
  7. I know Sark was looking for another QB to help with reps, scout team, etc but I have to admit I don’t know what he sees here (admittedly never having seen the kid play, just looking at his stats).
  8. Not a fan of reseeding. Create the bracket right at the start and let the chips fall as they may. This year’s bracket was critically flawed from the get go. In the end though, we would have most likely had to beat OSU and one of UGa, PSU, or ND to win the National Championship. To be the best you have to beat the best! Bring it on! Hook ‘em
  9. If we had a run game that game was over after the punt return for a touchdown.
  10. Michigan finishes the season with wins at tOSU and against Bama. Wow! That’s tall cotton.
  11. Really shouldn’t have kicked anything that could be returnable
  12. We’ll see this coming week if the trend continues next week, but to this point the pretenders have been embarrassed on the playoff stage. I think there’s been an assumption that if the Tech’s, SMU’s, etc of the world that if they just make it to the playoffs that all of a sudden they’ll become legitimate contenders because they can build off of that playoff appearance. What the playoff has shown to date is that the 2nd tier teams aren’t even close to contending. The importance of that is that it provides a stark contrast to the two power conference heavyweights that build through HS recruiting and supplement with the portal. Will the Double Eagle’s (Tech boosters), etc continue to spend big on a handful of portal recruits if they know it won’t really make them competitive? Plugging 5 holes in a roster with 60 holes is really just throwing money away. Being Big XII champion or runner up doesn’t have that much impact if your conference continually gets embarrassed on the big stage. Getting that dumb money (overpaying to get talent to a team that wouldn’t get a look otherwise) is an important step in rationalizing the NIL / portal market in my opinion. I guess we’ll see.
  13. The right side of the OL was cooking with gas last night!
  14. I think he forgot rule number one of being a CB, forget what happened on the last play. He had that really bad read on the ball to the TE where he bit down and let the guy run right by and it just seemed like the wheels came off after that.
  15. Sounds like Singleton and Branch are both going to slide by. I’ll be interested to see where Sark goes from here.
  16. It’s too bad that the refs threw the errant targeting flag. UGa didn’t have any timeouts and there was no way they were getting the one armed Beck back on the field in time to snap the ball. 5 yards farther back with the option of going with one arm or QB #3 probably results in a different outcome even if we couldn’t stop the run at that point.
  17. I’m not worried about where we are now, I’m most interested in where we finish the regular season. From what I’ve seen so far, this team has a lot of room for improvement. It’s on RT to make that happen.
  18. Some guy named Sweat. Is he gonna be any good?
  19. It sounds like we made it worth his while to stay, which considering the situation makes a lot of sense.
  20. So you’re saying we have a chance!
  21. Damn, those numbers aren’t quite right but the general idea still stands.
  22. The first seven times we had 4 yards or less to go on 2nd, 3rd, or 4th down we threw the ball. The only run in the game in that situation was a second and one in the final drive of regulation. Sark had zero confidence in the running game from the get go.
  23. Wow! That’s impressive. That is the dedication and drive that you want to see from a young man. Can’t wait to see him play.
  24. Glad to get the win, but it was amazing how often we had a turnover when we needed a play to take the lead in that game. Fortunately NC State had the same issue. Trey is a talent for sure, but he needs to force things less. Too often he either turned the ball over or took a really difficult shot because he decided it was his time, instead of using his teammates to create better opportunities.
  25. The guy has single-handedly, with a massive help from the OL, changed the offensive identity of this team. The transformation from a horizontal screen team into a highly effective between the tackles rushing attack is astounding. Sark deserves credit for being flexible enough to recognize that 1) teams had figured out the horizontal offensive and 2) morph from throwing to open up the run to running to open up the pass. Trey is by far the most valuable player on this team and it’s not even close. Hopefully Sark can reduce his workload next week and give Gibson and to a lesser extent Blue a tryout in the new identity offense in a game that would be nice to win but isn’t must win. Hook ‘em
