  1. I know Sark was looking for another QB to help with reps, scout team, etc but I have to admit I don’t know what he sees here (admittedly never having seen the kid play, just looking at his stats).
  2. Not a fan of reseeding. Create the bracket right at the start and let the chips fall as they may. This year’s bracket was critically flawed from the get go. In the end though, we would have most likely had to beat OSU and one of UGa, PSU, or ND to win the National Championship. To be the best you have to beat the best! Bring it on! Hook ‘em
  3. If we had a run game that game was over after the punt return for a touchdown.
  4. Michigan finishes the season with wins at tOSU and against Bama. Wow! That’s tall cotton.
  5. Really shouldn’t have kicked anything that could be returnable
  6. We’ll see this coming week if the trend continues next week, but to this point the pretenders have been embarrassed on the playoff stage. I think there’s been an assumption that if the Tech’s, SMU’s, etc of the world that if they just make it to the playoffs that all of a sudden they’ll become legitimate contenders because they can build off of that playoff appearance. What the playoff has shown to date is that the 2nd tier teams aren’t even close to contending. The importance of that is that it provides a stark contrast to the two power conference heavyweights that build through HS recruiting and supplement with the portal. Will the Double Eagle’s (Tech boosters), etc continue to spend big on a handful of portal recruits if they know it won’t really make them competitive? Plugging 5 holes in a roster with 60 holes is really just throwing money away. Being Big XII champion or runner up doesn’t have that much impact if your conference continually gets embarrassed on the big stage. Getting that dumb money (overpaying to get talent to a team that wouldn’t get a look otherwise) is an important step in rationalizing the NIL / portal market in my opinion. I guess we’ll see.
  7. The right side of the OL was cooking with gas last night!
  8. I think he forgot rule number one of being a CB, forget what happened on the last play. He had that really bad read on the ball to the TE where he bit down and let the guy run right by and it just seemed like the wheels came off after that.
  9. Sounds like Singleton and Branch are both going to slide by. I’ll be interested to see where Sark goes from here.
  10. It’s too bad that the refs threw the errant targeting flag. UGa didn’t have any timeouts and there was no way they were getting the one armed Beck back on the field in time to snap the ball. 5 yards farther back with the option of going with one arm or QB #3 probably results in a different outcome even if we couldn’t stop the run at that point.
  11. I’m not worried about where we are now, I’m most interested in where we finish the regular season. From what I’ve seen so far, this team has a lot of room for improvement. It’s on RT to make that happen.
  12. Some guy named Sweat. Is he gonna be any good?
  13. It sounds like we made it worth his while to stay, which considering the situation makes a lot of sense.
  14. So you’re saying we have a chance!
  15. Damn, those numbers aren’t quite right but the general idea still stands.
  16. The first seven times we had 4 yards or less to go on 2nd, 3rd, or 4th down we threw the ball. The only run in the game in that situation was a second and one in the final drive of regulation. Sark had zero confidence in the running game from the get go.
  17. Wow! That’s impressive. That is the dedication and drive that you want to see from a young man. Can’t wait to see him play.
  18. Glad to get the win, but it was amazing how often we had a turnover when we needed a play to take the lead in that game. Fortunately NC State had the same issue. Trey is a talent for sure, but he needs to force things less. Too often he either turned the ball over or took a really difficult shot because he decided it was his time, instead of using his teammates to create better opportunities.
  19. The guy has single-handedly, with a massive help from the OL, changed the offensive identity of this team. The transformation from a horizontal screen team into a highly effective between the tackles rushing attack is astounding. Sark deserves credit for being flexible enough to recognize that 1) teams had figured out the horizontal offensive and 2) morph from throwing to open up the run to running to open up the pass. Trey is by far the most valuable player on this team and it’s not even close. Hopefully Sark can reduce his workload next week and give Gibson and to a lesser extent Blue a tryout in the new identity offense in a game that would be nice to win but isn’t must win. Hook ‘em
  20. The Texas D has obviously been outstanding all season long and frankly materially better than the vaunted A&M D. Despite not having a plethora of high end skill position talent the A&M O has been able to score well in SEC play. How do y’all see the Texas D matching up versus the A&M offense?
  21. Didn’t watch A&M yesterday but know they gave up 31 in regulation and 21 in the first quarter. What did Auburn do to move the ball? How much of a fit for the Texas offense was what Auburn did? I love the idea of playing bully ball and running down A&M’s throat but the fumble issues give me pause.
  22. He’s getting to see the field but he isn’t executing his job when he’s on it. Sark owes it to the team to tell him to either play the position the way it’s supposed to be played or you have to sit. No different than any other position on this team.
  23. I am hoping Sark can get J Gib significant work tomorrow. Having trust in a back that’s more of a load will be helpful down the road when protecting leads and facing lighter fronts like A&M. This OL hasn’t been great at straight ahead run blocking but I think they can be more than adequate with a bigger back versus smaller or worn down fronts.

      • Thanks
  24. I’m sure the UF DTs will be evaluating their options after the season is over. Now whether any of them are a take or not is a completely different question.
  25. They were so busy preparing for our game that they forgot to scout or develop a game plan for Ole Miss.
