OTF Premium Former 13 year SEC DC on Will Muschamp at Texas
akhookem replied to Gerry Hamilton's topic in On Texas Football Forum
True, but what I wonder is how the offense reacts mid season when they’re not practicing against each other with as much contact, I just hope the offense stays up for the challenge all season long and has their own will -
I mean, if me and my unit are getting our ass kicked in practice every day, I would pick up the physicality. From everything I have heard, they have picked up the physicality. Recency bias is a b*tch. Hearing sark say the offense starting slow is making us forget the rest of the practice reports from fall camp. One practice will not define the season or the teams' physicality.

Is it tho? We’d be doing ourselves a disservice’s not adding a veteran like this. ohio state might do it soon.

I understand the sentiment but fruits and veggies don’t have a nervous system and don’t feel pain like the dog did when that asshole RB hit the dog. 🤘🏽Hook’Em Brother -

Must have some insight to what system we run with Muschamp. It strengthens the secondary. Would love the opinions!

OTF Premium Former 13 year SEC DC on Will Muschamp at Texas

Can Muschamp have any impact on the offense outside of the offense practicing against his defense everyday? Or possibly Jaluke? Can’t help but wonder if the offense is going to make the same jump as the defense without Muschamp involved with the offense -

Now imagine if it was a basketball article from Gerry 😂 -
“This is exactly what Texas needed.” The retired long time DC in the SEC loves the hire of Muschamp. “Texas needed to be more physical. He’s a perfect fit for that.”

Stop panicking. This is not last year.

I don’t remember much from last fall’s discussion. Lots of variables but Stroh had the fewest pressures allowed of the front 5 versus Ohio State - Baker 5 plus 2 penalties. Goosby, Campbell, Hutson with 2 each. Throw in a penalty, a huge one at that for Campbell. Stroh 1. In that game, the big errors came from places other than LG. Here is what I don’t know and either people with the power can’t or won’t ask. What happened to Neto? Why Brooks? These guys movements are tracked. We don’t know those outcomes but presumably any outliers in a negative sense would likely exclude some guys. Brooks was the outlier. There’s data to show that. Evaluation shows that. That’s the move that should be questioned first and foremost. That’s the name that should be discussed first. If it’s not, then someone is missing the boat. Personally at this time last year, I felt very good about Campbell, Hutson, and Goosby. Then I was reasonably confident in Baker. LG I thought would be fine. In part because the other 4 parts would be average to maybe well above average. Start with the top guys then work your way down. And quit giving Sark a play calling pass. In the first 5 games, he had two dramatic outliers. A third was out of his norm. So with a new QB, a new OLine, banged up RBs and WRs, and some new blood as pass catchers, he did them no favors getting up to speed and building confidence. -

I mentioned it this morning on Coffee & Football and missed the opportunity to really land it. As we're 12 days away from the first game of the season, today marks 12 months to the day from when @Bobby Burton announced I'd be joining the OTF team as a regular contributor. Thank you for the opportunity Bobby. It's truly been a pleasure and it's been great getting to know you and everyone on the squad better. One of my best friends, Natasha Hastings, is actually the one who reminded me when she texted me last week saying "so how's it feel to be heading into year 2?" At first, I was a little confused and then it dawned on me what she was referencing. Tash is a 2x Olympic Gold medalist on the American 4x400m relay in track, holds multiple World Championship Gold medals, used to train in Austin for years and is a South Carolina Gamecock to the core. The fact that she's become a regular OTF viewer (and essentially an honorary Longhorn) is pretty wild to me, yet it speaks to what's been built here. It's hard to believe it's really been a full year already and I can't thank everyone that comments in the chats and message board threads (even you @Joe Zura 😆) enough. Yall make the OTF engine go. I've continued to learn plenty from the pros @Gerry Hamilton @Rod Babers @CJ Vogel @Jeff Howe @Hank South @Jordan Scruggs @Bob Shipley @Blake Munroe @Matthew Hutcheson, am thankful and glad I get to continue to work alongside each of you. There's not a better group in the business. Made it to my sophomore year! Let's go! (just not sure if I can handle any more Watch With Us livestreams tho 🤣)

Absolutely! As I’ve posted before, he better have a stellar NFL career. This is not how he wants to be remembered.
