  1. Past hour
  2. The staff likely already knows if it’s an ACL. The manual Lachman test is very accurate. The MRI would just be confirmatory. So they’re either doing an MRI to confirm ACL or bc it’s not an ACL and to check other ligaments/ soft tissue
  3. Except that wasn’t my first response. My point was that Texas has one of the three most talented rosters in the country and should have enough talent to withstand losing one player, even a very good one. And your hypothetical actually proves my point. I wouldn’t suddenly assume the entire season is over because Ohio State has a loaded roster and plenty of other elite players. You keep arguing against something I didn’t say because apparently “Goosby is a huge loss AND Texas should still have enough talent to overcome it” is too nuanced for the assistant manager. 😂
  4. It’ll break Gerry’s heart but I’m willing to allow Austin Goosby to give his brother his knee if needed.
  5. I just spoke to Dr. James Andrews and he said you can do the dougie after an ACL tear.
  6. Yeah but the report said he walked of “fine” with any knee injury even just a strain you typically don’t walk “fine”. So that’s an encouraging sign.
  7. Walking off means nothing. I tore my ACL and walked to the car (limping) and drove home
  8. Incorrect you can stand and walk with a ACL, MCI tear.
  9. Docs examining the knee on the field have a very good feel immediately if it is an ACL, so that not being mentioned yet seems positive.
  10. That’s it. I’m calling abuela. Hoping the big fella is okay.
  11. Well Jordan Coleman best be ready to go if Goosby can’t.
  12. My favorite type of message board posting is when we get medical opinions
  13. If you were an Ohio State fan and the news came out that Jeremiah Smith had a knee injury, I promise that your first response wouldn't be "If they don't have the depth to withstand that injury, that is a coaching problem!"
  14. Likely correct. Something was concerning enough to do further testing. Hopefully it’s an mcl sprain or a meniscus.
  15. I just spoke to an orthopedic surgeon that I work with and he said if it was an ACL, MCl tear that he wouldn’t be able to stand and walk. He said it could be a slight sprain, or some kinda of patella or hamstring injury
  16. that is the thing- they arent saying either way. so no one knows
  17. For sure. Him getting a MRI isn’t a sign it’s serious. It would be malpractice not get get a MRI.
  18. @Jordan91 Most people think Kob's favorite player was Jordan. Not true. It was a white boy. Who?
  19. yeah but they would be saying its "just precautionary"
  20. How many non-contact knee injuries does one team need man
  21. Tore my acl last year playing basketball i wasn't able to walk without help immediately after. Definitely a good sign if he was able to walk off
  22. Don’t be serious. Honestly put him on ice till the OSU game.
  23. That's not entirely true. With a player like Goosby and the future he has ahead of him, a trainer can certainly manipulate the knee and check for resistance or instability. However, the smart move is to get an MRI and see exactly what is or isn't damaged before making any assumptions.
