Given Mateer's inconsistent mechanics, arm angles and release, it's not surprising he has trouble with longer throws. We'll see how well he does against much better competition.

Btw… we are doing a Texas HS Football show weekly this year on OTF. I’m working on finalizing the last member of the “cast”, but I really feel I knocked this one out of the park. It’s a home run already, but it will be a grand slam if I can talk this other former coach into joining us weekly.

A side note, but I was doing some stat digging today… 26.8% of his passes were uncatchable last season, not counting throwaways. Ouch.
