BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference on Tuesday released its Women's Basketball league schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 season. The University of Texas opens conference action with a road contest against Georgia on Thursday, December 31 and concludes league play with a road game against Ole Miss on Sunday, February 28. The schedule consists of a single round robin of home or away (14 games) with one rotating opponent that will be played at home and away (2 games). Each team will play eight home games and eight away games. The rotating opponent changes annually. This marks the 18th season of the 16-game schedule for women's basketball. Texas will play Texas A&M both home and away in the 2025-26 season. Home games will be: South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas A&M and Florida. Texas will travel to: Georgia, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Auburn, LSU, Oklahoma and Ole Miss. The regular season concludes with the 2027 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament being held for the 10th time at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C. The tournament, which will include all 16 teams, begins on Wednesday, March 3 and concludes with the championship game on Sunday, March 7. The women's basketball television schedule will be announced later, as will the time for all games.

We’re 25 days away, and No. 25 has two of the best running backs to ever come through Texas... plus one of the more memorable single-game performances in recent Longhorn history. Chris Gilbert was an absolute monster in the late 1960s. He finished with 3,231 career rushing yards and 28 touchdowns, became the first player in college football history to rush for 1,000 yards in three straight seasons, earned Consensus All-America honors in 1968 and was a three-time All-SWC selection. He’s also a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. Jamaal Charles finished his Texas career with 3,328 rushing yards and 36 rushing touchdowns. He was a three-time All-Big 12 selection, the 2005 Big 12 Freshman of the Year and, of course, a member of the 2005 National Championship team. Chris Warren III had five career 100-yard rushing games, but everyone remembers the explosion against Texas Tech in 2015: 276 yards and four touchdowns. That day he set Texas freshman single-game records for rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and longest run with a 91-yard TD.

If does some (not all) of things Mendoza accomplished it won't matter. He is a Manning.

If you're going to target a non-autographed Arch card in a Texas uniform, I think this is the one. The fact that it's his first licensed card could carry a lot more weight than whatever Panini is going to put out until Arch turns pro.

What a convenient narrative for Tech. Will continue to romp in weak B12 and not have to play difficult non-conf games which guarantees perennial playoff invite. Meanwhile SEC/B10 teams lucky to survive their conf schedules without suffering fatal third loss and missing playoffs because of lame selection process.

I saw some Tech podcaster explaining that they wouldn't play teams like Louisville, Duke, NC State, Tulane, etc. because "it wouldn't do anything for us."

Because the altar boys are a joke program too. When you play a one or two game schedule and rely on media attention to do the work for you, then you are the definition meaningless hype.

Nico isn’t bad and definitely has an NFL future but man there are 7-8 QBs he has to jump before he’s in the conversation for QB2
