Highschool recruiting will always be the foundation of blueblood programs. If UGA, Texas, or Ohio State waited on five star athletes to leave their current school and still have to get them up to speed and standard all three of those coaches would be fired. When Texas and other schools start to recruit positional needs while filling holes in the roster via both portal and highschool. Indiana will have a much harder time. They'll have to bid for premium talent and portalers. What Indiana and Tech(is trying to do) isn't sustainable. When the big money schools start to money all the roster, others will be forced to pay more to get kids out of HS or pay a premium for portal talent.

Smart move by Coach; every NFL draft I'm amazed at the talent that comes from P4, and even lower...

They were ahead of the game on this portal thing.. Tech also but not to that level. They struck lightning in a bottle. Think rest of college football will catch up. They better. The annual Recruiting winners are having to spend big time trying to keep their young high rated recruits not ready to play at championship level yet. That is where we are and still losing really good talent in droves. Schools will have to put less importance on high school recruiting which i thought would shrink roster taking away chance for 3 star type kids from getting college education. Regarding Indiana and their lack of 5 star athletes and the least amount of 4 stars in the playoffs: Gerry has said many times that stars vary across the board and shouldn’t mean as much as true evaluations . Unless I misquoted Gerry, I tend to believe Gerry’s statement. Give him a corn dog with mayo!

Draftkings had Miami at +4000 to start the year and Indiana was at +10000. Texas was at +550 second behind Ohio State at +500

With who throwing the ball? As I said in another post, Texas is the only one with a bonafide QB right now and an O that can scheme him open. That's my bias take anyway lol.
