Does anyone miss the SEC being on CBS?
LonghornFan4Ever replied to PrisonMike's topic in On Texas Football Forum
SEC on CBS was never the same after Verne Lundquist retired, despite Brad Nessler being a good announcer. SEC on CBS peaked for me when it was Verne Lundquist and Todd Blackledge. Verne was still in his prime and Todd was so much better than Gary at breaking down the game. Verne’s last 5 or 6 years were rough to listen to as he had lost his fastball at that point. -

I miss watching College GameDay without some wannabe pro wrestler taking off his shirt. -

She improved over the course of the year. But we need an experienced post. We haven't heard anything about Lovisa or her development. At 6'6" she should be good. I mean she had to guard Kyla in practice. - Today

It’s 3 because of Vince but going down the line player for player team one acquits itself very well.

Post is the weakness, Cunningham did not impress me much, she missed gimmes and was always late and had to foul. Hence Oldacre always closed games and played the majority of minutes - at least it seemed that way. -
Team 3. VY and Bijan...dynamic and Bijan has good hands...add Huffdaddy and DJ to lay the lumber on D. Davis to stretch the field...

CB and Safety are intertwined in a lot of ways. IF D Will / Filsame / Jonah 2 of 3 come back as good or better health wise then you have more flexibility at CB or at least the rotation there. As it sits, there will be a CB or Nickel moved to cover a safety spot. Tons of talent and tons of injury. -

By my count, we will currently have 11 players on scholarship. He normally carries 12. I am sure he is poring over the portal for that one hooper. We need another post player. Currently we have: 2 post players: Brea Cunningham and Lovisa Hose 2 Power Forwards: Isi Etute, Bri Crittendon 2 Small Forwards: Madison Booker and Addison Bjorn (can also play shooting guard) 3 Point Guards: Bri Preston, Grace Prenter, Lizzy Spaight 2 shooting guards: Amalia Holguin and Zya Vann This is a good team but needs more experience off the bench. -

Ok. Thanks for explaining that to me. -
The Saban tree of defense is a base 3-4. DL: NOSE END Tackle Backers: Jack/Will Mac Money Sam 2 Corners, 2 Safeties. If they're in Nickel it becomes DL: Nose Edge Tackle Backers: Jack Mac Money DBs: Star, 2 Corners, 2 Safeties. In Dime, they replace the Money with a DB, they keep the name as the money.

You're right about momentum after winning it all. Coach Elliott for volleyball knocked on the door a ton of times before he finally won one in 2012. Then 10 years later wins back to back. -

100% agree with the second and fourth paragraphs. It may not seem like a big deal, but breaking through and winning it all can change the momentum of your program. This is what might have happened to Mike White and softball if they had not won the natty last season. He's getting criticized but nowhere near the level it would be if they had not won it all. You keep getting close and getting close and not breaking through. That affects the momentum of your program.
