At least in the Senate the tide may have turned again. According to Dellenger the 2 conferences are close to supporting it now. Of course still a long way to go. But with the cap going to 50 million, get ready for patches on all UT Jerseys 🤣 https://x.com/RossDellenger/status/2083345491635446035?s=20

Makes you wonder if Reese Atwood could come back? Doubt she would as she has now played a full season of pro softball, but still... -
Yiu gotta give him a chance. You asked when he was gonna be healthy for us. He is healthy for us right now. Let him cook.

2026-27 Women’s Basketball Thread

I wonder if Kyla Oldacre could come back? Like men’s college basketball, there are 15 roster spots available for women’s college basketball. As of now, Texas has two roster spots remaining and some veteran front court depth would be nice to have and make me feel better about the potential of this team this season. -

Floodgates just opened its about to be a sh*t show. Coaches who sh*t the bed this offseason like Will Wade get a second chance now, what a joke -

Why are they popular enough to be paid? The colleges want it both ways. They were the ones that built the huge stadiums (many larger than those used by actual pros). They took in all the money and paid it to people of their choosing, who were not the ones actually playing the games, because they relied on the public believing that it was an activity engaged in by everyday students. The financial part relies on the loyalty of college grads who lived the experience and want it to continue. Removing the college connection will cause it to crash (which is why the schools, who control the money, are doing all they can to keep it flowing while still paying the athletes as little as possible. The problem is that the courts are no longer looking the other way when the NCAA says, "This is how we've always done it."

While I agree, we're a lonnnnng way from that. It starts with the schools conceding that these revenue-sport athletes are employees, and they won't do that. When enough schools cry uncle, things will change, but not until then. In the meantime, the schools have no business trying to limit compensation for a legal activity. Supply and demand for the win!

@Gerry Hamilton weaver granted another year of eligibility. I assume pope may end up with the same outcome. Probably 0 chance they end up on roster ? They would have to walk on? Or is there zero room at all even with walkon spots. Just curious since the news came out. -
