This is truly the craziest thing about Wingo - how does he spend a year on campus before someone realizes his vision isn't corrected? I've always wondered if correcting his vision wasn't more than just Lasik and maybe he was strabismic or something that required a procedure.

Andy Staples was talking about this on his podcast with Ari Wasserman on Friday (which may be why Livingstone posted the above). Staples said that Texas initially offered Livingstone "high six figures" for the upcoming season, but Texas cut that offer in half when they decided to pursue Coleman. According to Staples, OU just matched the original offer. Staples is tight with Jim Nagy, so take that for what it's worth. I don't really care one way or the other. If Texas cut his offer, that was essentially showing him the door.

Didn't realize that...had to go look it up. Texas hasn’t beaten OU three straight times this century, and that’s exactly why this year’s about to get real uncomfortable for them. Sark already snapped their little “we own the rivalry” myth, hung a 49‑0 obituary on their wall in 2022(we barely lost in 2023 and should have won that game), and now he’s sitting on a two‑game streak with the deepest roster he’s had. So yeah .... it’s true, and that third one is lining up like a slow‑moving train they can’t get off the tracks.

Dillon only wore 42 his freshman year. He made the switch to 44.

What are the biggest area/s of improvement did you see and what needs to be improved?? For me Arch throwing layered passes as opposed to rockets to everyone. I think thats part of the worm dirt searches he had a hard time with. Patience for Arch instead of quick bail, and communication for the oline. Defense would be just let the game come to you. By doing this, everyone gets the opportunity to chip in and the rest of the stats will come.

His route tree is vastly different through.

i know it sounds harsh but he easily has 150 more yards and 8 catches with 1 lore TD if it weren’t for the drops

I love the combo of Cam and Wingo, but the dude that has the highest likelihood of catching that many passes is Mosely if he can stay healthy. He wasnt healthy long enough last year to see what his YAC is. ANY way it goes itll be fun to watch.

If he improves his receptions-to-targets percentage, then the sky is the limit. He is always a big play waiting to happen, and when he does make a catch it usually turns into something. The issue is his consistency. If he catches just 2-3 more balls per game that come his way, it would probably significantly inflate his overall numbers. So Smith’s junior season does seem like a reasonable ceiling for him.

Like most Texas fans, I'm excited about the potential of this Longhorn football team heading into the 2026 season. I'm hoping Steve Sarkisian, Arch Manning, and the rest of the offense put together a historic season filled with fireworks. Much of the offseason attention has centered around Cam Coleman, both nationally and locally. While Coleman is certainly deserving of the hype, I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan Wingo ends up having a truly special season. With another year in Sarkisian's offense, Wingo should have an even greater understanding of the system. That could allow Sarkisian to utilize him in more creative ways through different alignments, motions, and formations. The additions of Cam Coleman, Raleek Brown, and Hollywood Smothers should also make it much more difficult for opposing defenses to focus solely on taking Wingo out of the game plan. I'm not suggesting that Wingo is about to win the Heisman Trophy in 2026 or post the eye-popping numbers DeVonta Smith produced during his historic senior season. However, is it possible that Wingo approaches—or even surpasses—Smith's outstanding junior campaign? It's worth noting that Wingo has already surpassed Smith's production during both his freshman and sophomore seasons. Smith exploded during his junior season, recording 68 receptions for 1,256 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 29 plays of 20 or more yards before producing one of the greatest individual seasons in college football history as a senior. Can Wingo make a similar Year 3 leap? Time will tell. But based on his first two seasons and the talent surrounding him, it's certainly a conversation worth having. If Sarkisian continues to expand Wingo's role, Longhorn fans may be in for one of the most exciting seasons by a Texas wide receiver in recent memory.

Goosbys response is good, tho there were other issues that are well documented here. Penalties, Mental Errors, Leadership (which has me curious whose gonna be the guy here) and owning and fixing the issues as the season went along (Flood has to be more impactful here) to name a few.
