Thoughts on the Texas offense tonight

QB-Arch is not consistent enough to be labeled an “inconsistent QB” he has proven to be a bad QB thus far. RB-Needed more carries tonight. Clark averaged 4.3 but only got 3 touches? Ridiculous. Nobody on this room has shown to be explosive but need more touches. WR/TE-Not overly impressed with this group but with a better QB, I think they would be considered an average unit. Somebody go make a tough catch. OL-Atrocious. Sark-Head scratching playcalls. Abandoning the run game made zero sense. He is becoming a detriment to the team. -

I’ll contribute to this thread we suck on offense and our head coach is not an offensive genius the media calls him. #firesark #fireflood -

Brotha the man’s getting 10 milly a year. He needs to be obsessed with Texas football. -
This blame the messenger crap is ridiculous. I’ll keep a close eye next spring and summer on coaches who’ll announce they’re weak in particular areas, don’t trust certain players and question perceived strengths. And during the season I’ll let everyone know when a coach openly blasts individual players and questions a team’s character during pressers. PS, that ain’t how the world works.

Thoughts on the Texas offense tonight

Did we…did we play offense tonight?! Interesting fact we had 332 and 306 yards against 2 of the top defenses in the country (OSU and BLOWU) and 340 and 179 against 2 of the worst in power four (Florida and Kentucky). That screams to me MATURITY. We get up for big games against big teams, but when we should show up and handle business we walk into the game looking entitled, unprepared, unfocused, out of synch, lifeless, and apathetic. I really didn’t like Wingo’s body language tonight on a couple of throws specifically the throw early on across the middle that was wide open (Arch HAS to connect on these it’s killing us multiple time this year see osu in the 4th quarter), the third and long ball that was behind but he got his hands on, and the throw in OT. Wingo doesn’t seem to attack the ball but more expects it to be thrown to him perfectly. Then at times when it is…it’s inexplicably dropped. His blocking on a couple of the outside runs especially one on third down with Archis really bad for a player that is so physically gifted. He also isn’t fighting for PI calls. Even the one last night he body language was passive rather than aggressively attacking the ball. IDK there is a lot on offense overall that we laymen can see, the most glaring in lack of intensity and physicality in the run game from the line. @Gerry Hamilton get ready I think you’re picking MSU next weekend because Texas just got out physical’d on offense badly tonight. Defense brought it…HARD so did special teams, so that tells me it’s a mentality and attitude within the offense not the team as a whole. - Today

I think losing Coach Choice is a big one too. He was such a great coach and an energizer bunny on the sideline. -
It won’t matter because my Dodgers are “ruining baseball” and I absolutely love it. The Giants suck and they act like they are not trying to spend as if they didn’t offer the same contract to Ohtani and paid Adames and all these other guys money just to not make the playoffs. Best of luck Tony. You aren’t going to move the needle in SF lmao.

It’s a fair point. We don’t have any more blue basketball teams on the schedule thankfully so maybe now we can focus on playing football and moving the ball offensively. Heck at this point let’s just try to even out the TOP. -

I thought he got banned for celebrating Stroh being injured. Thanks for correcting the record. -
Scraping past the worst team in the SEC by 3 points in OT, is not great and not a good indicator of future games agaisnt tough opponents. Miss State next week on the road, Georgia on the road, Vandy at home and even A&M. Hell, at this point Arky looks much better under Petrino, too. If we keep playing like this, the scoreboard won't be in our favour. It's not hard to understand why people are pissed off with the performance against Kentucky.
-
Also, if we follow the up/down play of this team. This week was down. Which means our remaining games should look like this: UP - Miss State, Georgia and A&M DOWN - Vandy and Arky Now who knows how it plays out, but you can only rely on your D so much. The O needs to put drives together and score points. 16 points and OT against Kentucky is unacceptable. I don't care if they played Georgia close last year or whatever.

Yeah i'm curious why Simon isn't getting any runs? Clark had a few decent runs, but Wisner had nothing and neither did Arch. A total of 37 yards rushing. Against one of the worst rush defenses in the SEC lol.
