  1. Past hour
  2. Yes. Riley Pettijohn (9 career tackles) and Payton Pierce (48 career tackes) are answers, but not Rasheem Biles or Justin Cryer. Keep in mind Justin Cryer had about as many tackles last season as Pierce in his career, and Pierce is listed as 1 inch and 1 lb heavier than Biles, who had 100 tackles just last year himself.
  3. Oh brother, AI message board posts
  4. It's definitely a concern. I have confidence in Biles, Cryer, and Smith but anyone after is a different story. Brad Spence and Darius Snow could be huge X factors. More Spence than Snow. The freshmen will flash this fall and the reps they're getting now will help, but they're still freshmen and for them to be fully comfortable and fully playable it's going to take several games at the least. Just think about how dumbed down Anthony Hill's role was in the first few games of his freshman season when he was usually rushing the passer or blitzing.
  5. He was safety on the opposite side. Great instincts!! He’s a gamer. It would be huge if he took a HUGE leap this year. How nice of Arch to let Jonah have a special moment.
  6. This is awful. 😢 Prayers.
  7. Horrific. Thinking of their family and community.
  8. The reps the young LBs will get over the next few weeks will pay dividends during the actual season imo. Obviously not ideal for it to happen the way it has, but this could be a blessing in disguise for creating more depth in that room. It seems to have paid off for Lacey and Bell to have as many reps as they did with the 1s in the spring with Manning recovering from foot surgery.
  9. We all texted with Coach Shipley yesterday. He's beaming a little. He's ready for one of those grandkids to get old enough so he can start going to some tackle football games! 😉
  10. Without a doubt, he is my football hero. So much of my enjoyment of the game stems from watching him in my youth.
  11. First world problems: Our biggest issue is that we may have to play our 5-star LB recruit in a game.
  12. Kudos to A&M for making this part of their preseason program. If it isn’t already, it should be required at every school.
  13. Mental health is the most important health that leads to everything else. Like he mentioned that smile can only hold for so long before the damn breaks. Mine broke recently and thankfully i have my wife to help pull me up and just be there.
  14. Today
  15. Back to back clean sheets. Nice start.
  16. That 1744 yards could have easily been over 3000. He didn't play much in the 2nd half of a lot of those games because Texas was loaded and most games were out of reach by halftime. Who knows what he would have done against tired defenses in the 2nd half. HOOKEM
  17. There was a day in February 2021 when I needed a friend to pick up the phone. I'm thankful every day that they did.
  18. Aw man. That’s awful news.
  19. Sky is the limit with this team and program. Winning on the road and they’re offensively still pretty disconnected.
  20. Prayers to the family and team
  21. Absolutely crazy to get tackled with a second left. Part of the game I get it but could have been one of those freak deals. Thank goodness she seemed ok.
  22. Texas has found a soccer coach, folks!
  23. I saw him play against SMU in the Cotton Bowl October of 1977. He went for over 200 yds in the rain. Man amongst boys.
