Nah. Several of the 2025 class took pay cuts this offseason (really it was just no signing bonuses and normal pay compared to Year 1 for where he was slotted) and he was willing to do that as well but felt like there was more of an opportunity to go contribute faster elsewhere with Texas bringing in the number of LBs they did in the portal and from the HS ranks. And obviously Kentucky was paying him more.

Was he another “i know my worth” while barely contributing on the field casualty?

A quick one and done for the Rebels. -
Why portal? If he gets good playing time and can really shine against SEC competition at UK, he can get drafted. Being on a bad team makes standing out a little easier and portal every year isn't a great look either.

I’ve been here a year or so. Quality writing and just enough wack jobs to make me feel somewhat sane. First memory of Texas football was in November, 1968. My father and I had gone to my grandfather’s house to watch the game in color. Both Grandpa and my pop were Arkansas fans. I remember really liking how those guys in white would knock some razorback’s block off, give him a hand up and go back to the huddle. And then do it over and over again. Even at 12, I could see those guys were all tougher than a sack full of hammers. Favorite memory from 57 years though is VY’s hands in the air as confetti flies at the Rose Bowl. At least until next January. -
Make some noise at UK? If he does, he'll be in the portal the first day it opens. Hell, he'll probably be in the portal the first day it opens irrespective of how he performs at Kentucky, who am I kidding?

Follow along for the SEC Tournament in Hoover, Alabama. The Horns get active on Thursday after the double-bye. Texas will play the winner of #7 Arkansas and #15 South Carolina/#10 Tennessee. -
Bo is great, man. Really wish it could've worked at Texas. He's going to kill it at UK this year and the remaining years of his time in Lexington. Said he doesn't do much but football related activities. Going to be a fun watch this year.
-
Wish we could've made it work with him. I have a feeling he's going to make some noise at UK.

CJ and I caught a workout today at Westlake that featured a number of college athletes from across the country. We were there for Colin Simmons and Lance Jackson, but bumped into Bo Barnes. He's doing well at UK. Says CJ Baxter is fully healthy too. Awesome kid. Wish him well.

Tech people sure are leaning into the Mental Disorders. From one chatter "For the Safe Habor determination with mental health diagnosing Gambling Disorder is listed as a Substance Related and Addictive Disorder in the diagnostic textbook since 2013, meaning it is considered an addictive disorder (and therefore a mental health disorder). It would seem that the Safe Harbor exemption would be a clear cut argument if we are providing ways for student athletes to seek mental health treatment for addiction concerns without punishment, as the American Psychiatric Association conceptualizes it as such." -
Yep! Biggest takeaway for me.

His quote about retention being priority #1 should be pinned on the OTF board forever: ”what’s going to be more upsetting, losing a HS recruit or letting Arch Manning walk out the door?” -
