I’ve never been a fan of retiring jersey numbers. Just put that player’s name and jersey number(s) in a ring of honor instead. Eventually you run out of jersey numbers if you start retiring too many of them.

Can’t say I feel sorry for them. Unfortunately, in the day of the portal and NIL, we are going to start seeing more of these type of situations happening. Glad that Texas and Sark vet their potential players/portal transfers very thoroughly. Hoping we never have a player/situation such as this.

The guy won a Heisman. Should be an automatic retiring of a number if they do that and if the person chooses to let someone else wear it, then alls good. A bunch of coaches in my family that agree.

I understand Florida doesn’t retire jersey numbers, but even multiple players have worn #15 after Tebow who is a college football icon. Daniels is just a diva.

Neither Joe Burrow’s No. 9 nor Jayden Daniels' No. 5 were officially retired by LSU. They were "soft-retired" by Brian Kelly who actively protected both numbers. Lane Kiffin reversed that stance to give the number to Pickett

You may not believe it but if you look into the history of athlete psyche, it’s a real thing. I always had my best races when I had a low seed. They call it the “outside smoke” for a reason.

Connor Robertson says he can feel the increase in physicality in team run. Says the running backs have helped in that regard but it’s been noticeable in the few true live settings the team has had.
