I feel the same way about Flood overall, but he gets some flowers from me for yesterday’s performance. Pass pro was much better than I expected yesterday and the run blocking, particularly on the left side of the line is something to build off of. Didn’t like the penalties or the lack of push in short yardage goal line situations. But those two things might be something we have to live with since it’s been an issue for multiple seasons now.

At this point an injury of some sort would make more sense to me than complete implosion because of being rattled... Like many of us I'd say that I'd be completely fine with yesterday's performance if in a couple of months it just looks like a bump in the road. Can't get it out of my head and probably won't until Florida, but even this week I wanna see Arch get back to his old self, footwork and all. If this was just a "moment too big for him" kinda thing then whatever, learn from it, grow from it and move past it but can't sit here and say it wasn't concerning. Next few weeks the name of the game is making the automatics, processing defenses (as bad as they may be), and honing in the footwork and mechanics we know he has

In no way do I want this to sound like I’m discrediting the work y’all have put out regarding camp, practice and scrimmages. I was just wondering if the Arch Manning we saw yesterday with the decision making, bad footwork, and wild arm slots which at times can be okay showed up in those scrimmages or practices in the windows y’all were able to view? This isn’t a slight on Arch at all, but was just wondering if there was glimpes of this earlier on? @Gerry Hamilton@CJ Vogel@Bobby Burton@Jeff Howe?

Yeah, but a Qb with not much experience, and no experience in a big away game to have some jitters and over throws, or rocket some touch passes might should have been expected. I think because of Arch’s pregame confidence we all thought he would go out and murder them. And granted, he not only didn’t do that, but missed the easy passes that need to be completed. I think some are just saying lighten up on Arch in regards to the insane “he’s a bust”, or “reminds me of Garrett Gibert” comments . Those posts are just assinine considering the small sample size. And for a QB in this day and age with his clout to sit out for 2 years and wait, we can probably be a little patient as a fan base as well. I can give you a list of great QBs that started off some games rocky in their first year. And he showed some signs of progression near the end of the game . That’s all we need is for him to get better . He has the pedigree, work ethic, and character to do so. If he’s better next time we meet an elite team, he’s the difference. Special teams and defenses were as my kids would say “fire”.

I have wondered if maybe he had covid, it's going around Austin again.

And even he wonders if Arch is injured. Maybe we'll never know but a complete implosion from a mechanics and footwork perspective is crazy

Both statements can be true at the same time—they aren’t mutually exclusive. It’s not about pushing a negative take, it’s about looking at the facts. Sark didn’t have Manning prepared yesterday speaks to coaching, game planning, and execution. Even a good quarterback can struggle if the game plan is poor or the team isn’t ready. Manning being better than a 7th round pick Quinn Ewers is about the players’ talent levels or career ceiling. Manning being a more talented or capable quarterback doesn’t automatically mean he would succeed if the preparation or system was flawed but he’d have given them the best chance had he played all of last season.

That’s a conclusion i came to myself that it’s a bit worrisome it seems going into year two of being know more as a good defensive program with a head coach who’s supposed to be a “offensive guru” and a “QB whisperer”

Brooks is a huge Georgia homer, don't expect him to be objective when it comes to Texas. DeAndre Moore was running wide open with no one with 10 yards on the first play of the game and Arch drove the ball into the ground. That's not Sark's fault.

@Jeff HoweGood read, I will say that to ease up on Arch seems like it makes sense but a little after the fact beneficial. If he was a freshman with zero starts understand. Two years sitting waiting his turn, knowing the offense and to make that many poor throws and mistakes just gotta call it what it was. Ohio state level is The SEC minus MS state… Big expectations for Texas, just got a dose of reality. Still can be good season for sure

Our recievers wasn't what kept us in the game, our ability to get push up the middle did. That's Michigan all day with a runner in Bryce.

Sark has to create a counter to what these teams are doing.

Sark is 1-6 against top 5 teams . I was generally pleased with the OL play , but Flood is in his 5th year, and we are nowhere near an elite OL. Was shocked we did not take the field goal --a Sark trademark with the same trademark results.

If their name weren’t Michigan, they wouldn’t worry me. They don’t have near the WR/TE and D talent that Texas does. Until Ohio State actually beats Michigan though, I’m not going to assume it’s a W.

What's strangely amusing is that we talked about this all off-season. We knew as soon as Arch had an off performance the national media and haters would go nuts. What's strange is that some Texas media and fans are falling into it. I'm sure media guys are doing it for clicks. Arch hasn't forgotten the fundamentals of footwork and mechanics of throwing. We've already seen that consistently. Competition doesn't change fundamentals. That's why you work fundamentals. He pressed too hard in his first big road start. This is the easiest thing in the world to diagnose.

A Nuss like performance is good enough if the run game is what it was yesterday. Those were good game manager type stats.

One of the biggest concerns I took from this is Brooks saying Sark's become predictable. Says similar in his last vid too that Georgia, Vandy, OSU have prepped Sark's system and have been able to take away Texas WR routes. But I also see why Sark wouldn't get more creative or complex if his QB wasn't able to make the easy throws to begin with.

These multi-year starters seem to have average to below average performances.

My guess is he has a couple of generations in his own family who can help him.

Which is why I hope Arch has people around him who can give him good advice on how to handle the crazy noise. Hope Arch just turns off all his social media apps and concentrate on what he needs to do. Good or bad, social media attention is a huge distraction. As painful as it was, I looked at Texas v OSU again. I saw glimmers of an elite Offense led by an elite Arch. Obviously they’re not there yet, but watching it again made me feel better
