While the Longhorns were very competitive for Monshun Sales and wanted him in the class, the heaviest focus has been on keeping Easton Royal in the fold. So where do things stand with Texas and Royal? OTF checked in with a few sources close to the situation on Friday morning. Here’s the latest: Since the end of Royal’s official visit slate, the nation’s No. 1 wideout has gone somewhat radio silent in terms of communicating with college staffs. Texas, LSU and Florida all remain in the mix, with the focus seemingly narrowing to the Longhorns vs. Tigers. That doesn’t mean people in Royal’s camp aren’t communicating with each program involved, but Royal has largely taken a step back into the day-to-day conversations with college coaches. That hasn’t kept him from keeping up a very active social media presence, showing love to each school involved, whether wearing LSU gloves and Texas cleats, or posting visit pictures, etc., etc. One of the sources OTF communicated with this morning wasn’t sure of where things truly stood due to Royal stepping back to evaluate all of his options. While another source with direct knowledge of the five-star’s recruitment described the situation as “back and forth” while he’s in decision-making mode. That same source relayed that this is a “four quarter” situation. What quarter are we in? I’d say probably halftime. OTF has been adamant in reporting that regardless of whatever comes out this summer, whether Royal reaffirms his commitment to Texas or flips to LSU, this recruitment is going to December, with each program motivated to sign the Bayou State standout to their 2027 class.

For those unaware here is the New soccer coach entering her first year hailing from UCLA where she won a National Championship. -
Since we are almost to August that means Texas athletics is on the horizon. First sport up is Soccer! And with the hiring of a New Coach (National Champion at UCLA) Coach Bates. schedule has already been released and Texas has infused a bunch of new transfers into the program. Expectations are to compete in the SEC and win some tournament games.

50 Days Until Kickoff: Who Was The Best No. 50?
Waxahorn replied to Blake Munroe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Bobby Wuensch the poet and Bill Wyman tied. Both of them should be on the Longhorn Mt. Rushmore of O-linemen. From the era when O-linemen could not hold. -

Nailed it with Wuensch. Some real good history here. Just considering the impact in his day, hard to find any horn OL better in their day. Spoke to him around seventeen years ago at Ninfa's on Navigation. -
This is… exactly my point? I’m not complaining or angry. Just saying we’ve been given enough information to deduce where this thing sits for days/weeks now. Saying we expect him to commit to Indiana the morning of his announcement just felt unnecessary just like saying you expect X guy to commit to Texas the day of. OTF used to be really great about giving just enough info to let you know what they think about recruitments as they progressed. It was tactful and a breath of fresh air. Last few recruitments have been feeling different with either posts like these or outright “good news coming today” on the YouTube channel, etc. just my opinion, not attacking anyone like many in this thread seem to think 🙂
