I should've mentioned that the Pinkertons that I tried and enjoyed was in SA. The candy-painted ribs aren't for everyone I guess but I really liked them.
-
Do any of you guys do your own barbequing? Reminds me of when I was in Athens, Georgia back in the day as a recent high school graduate and some guy asked me the most one should pay for companionship. I said zero.

1. When in Austin, Terry Blacks. ...and Franklin's for only the brisket and pork ribs, and if you like waiting in line. 2. When in Lockhart, Terry Blacks. 3. When in Seguin, Burnt Bean. 4. When in Driftwood, Salt Lick. 5. Anywhere else, give it a try and hope for the best.

Overall, BBQ in California is horrible. I am not surprised that they don't get it. They never will. More for us!

Where does he park it?

How about comparing the defenses Arch faced in ‘24 versus the collective stats of all of the defenses he would have faced if he had played a full season? Seems like a stretch, but maybe some type of predictive analytics of how he could perform this year?

Sorry guys… I don’t understand Pinkerton’s. It was one bad experience, but that’s enough for me to rule out an establishment. And I was eating at the original. Houston has an underrated BBQ scene. Lots of Vietnamese/Asian influenced places (try Blood Bros) and Corkscrew produces the highest quality brisket I’ve had. Only Terry Black’s in Austin has been that consistent for me. Nit-picking opinions about bbq is why Texas has the best bbq in the nation.

I think mine is similar. I’d love the plays charted, say 3 following series, anytime we’re up by 10 or more to see what happens. I’d contrast it against deployed personnel to see if it’s a combination of different play calls and subbing when we lose the spread. Defensively, I’d love to have the linebackers charted on gap integrity. Super basic - did they maintain discipline to the gap? Were they out of position? If the right gap, what % did they make the play. They’ll be crucial this year.
-
New rabbit hole suggestion, I have a theory that there was an extensive amount of middle pressure last year that affected both the passing and run game. Think it’s worth a look especially with the discussion we will be “better” up the middle this year. No pressure is good but I feel like middle always harder to deal with

Miguel of Valentina’s is back with a food truck now. Making a comeback

Is this the best thing ESPN has ever done?
Dallas90 replied to Jeff Howe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
It's only the second best thing they did, the best thing they did was to fire Olbermann 😀 -
That’s not what happened at all. Terry isn’t a distant relative, he’s the other son of the owners. He ran the original restaurant for many years before his brother came back to town to get involved with it. Family fallout occurred and they went their separate ways. I’ve lived in Lockhart for 42 years and know both sides well.

If I had Lone Star I would give it away too.

That was a really moving clip. But the best thing ESPN did was hire Keith Olbermann to really put entertainment into the "Entertainment and Sports Programming Network." The punchline is that he hated being a sportscaster. -
I like more of your takes comparing teams from 2019 to teams that played before you were a cognizant child.

Been to a lot of those in Centex and agree with most of the members here. Eakers in Fredericksburg is also pretty good, as is Kelly's in Wimberley. Been to Burnt Bean a couple of times recently and it is very good. We go to Opie's off and on b/c my wife loves their sides so much. I like those kinds of places. We take a lot of road trips and love going through Llano, Luling, Lockhart, (a lot of Ls), and Seguin. I have a couple of pictures with Miss Tootsie at Snow's and would go more often if it was open more. Her story on the Netflix Chef's Table special in BBQ is quite interesting. We need to get down to Pinkerton's.

Simms still can't do anything right in some fans' eyes. 😜

Thorndale Meat Market is a great place to walk up and get a spread without standing in line if you ever find yourself on US 79. Also have great dry-aged bone-in ribeyes in the meat case some days, but call ahead.
-
You needed to try Pecan Lodge 10 years ago for the true experience of what it was. Has been bad for at least 5+ years now Coopers is absolutely garbage, avoid Luling City Market is still great for the sausage and mustard bbq sauce and good for ribs. Snows is still top notch
-
Truth BBQ in Houston and Burnt Bean in Seguin. If there’s better brisket out there than Truth I will kiss your ass.
-
Seems long overdue that Simms shows up on the sidelines for a game. Put him on the Jumbotron and everyone clapping and cheering will be a healing situation for everyone involved.

Pinkerton's in SA is one of my favs. Grant does an awesome job. Love Corkscrew in Spring. Snow's still one of my favorites.

With his commitment to OSU, is he still visiting Texas or did he shut it down?

Would love to see Chris back in Austin
