Love to see it 🤣. But I do think they will be a little amped up since we smoked them like a pack or cools last year.

Quinn’s first year starting had some pretty ugly games. He improved a lot year 2 then seemed to regress final year (likely due to injuries). Arch gonna be fine.

Great perspectives Jeff. My questions / concerns are: 1) OL and DL through two games look extremely undisciplined with all the stupid penalties. Gotta clean up quickly. Collin Simmons, wtf with the stupid penalties through 2 weeks? 2) Arch appears to have regressed in past 12 months on fundamentals/ mechanics. What is AJ Milwee teaching our QBs? Concerningvtrend with the way Quinn seemed to regress his final year? Way too many examples through 2 games where Arch not seeing wide open receivers down field, poor mechanics, sloppy footwork. 3) Wide receivers dropping very catchable balls (Wingo drop inexcusable) and holding call on Livingstone was crushing in the moment. Those kill momentum. 4) DBs getting burned too often. With a better QB, several additional TDs get scored against us today. 5) Jerrick Gibson gonna be sitting a lot this year if he can’t hold the f’ing ball. Like Christian Clark A LOT. So good to see Baxter building momentum. Feels like our running game could be a real strength this season. 6) Punting seemed off today compared to last week. 7) I heard Sark talk this week about how much he loves blocked punts but good Lord, that is a nut crushing stupid penalty on 4th down to get roughing the punter. Same as a turnover but it’s self inflicted to give free 1st down. 8. We won by 30+ but for much of the game, it didn’t feel good. Very sloppy, erratic. We easily could lose upcoming games against OU, Georgia, A&M, staring at 8-4 if we don’t make big strides in lots of areas quickly. The good news is lots of good tape to highlight areas to improve. No part of the team should be overconfident. Long season. Lots of time to improve, just cannot afford to lose games we’re favored. Hook em! 🧡🤘🏼🐂

He hurt his thumb against OU and was ineffective the rest of the game which fueled their comeback. I don’t think it healed for much of the rest of the season.

Florida lost to South Florida today

believe it was later in that season when Thompson went out with Injury and it might've been WV or someone like that. He came in and played pretty well. He also came in during '22 when Ewers got hurt in that Bama game. Even though he was banged up himself. That might be the game you're talking about.

I agree, Wingo needs to up his game. He looks like he doesn't even want to be there lol. Which is odd. Stroh definitely didn't have a good game where he had a better one against Ohio State. Disagree taht he doesn't need to be on the field, he just needs to get better/consistent, like most of the team. Niblett is a bit of a disappointment because he has some game changing speed but that's about it. Suppose the positive is that they have a few gimmes to get things sorted/fixed.

Called bad throws

I think if Wingo is going to play as bad as he has we need to try Lockett. Nibblett being on the field and expecting to be a lead blocker on screens shouldn't be a thing at all. Stroh doesn't need to be on the field. He's a liability due to having 2 cinder blocks attached to his feet. He's only good if he can get his hands on you. I think sometimes coaches tend to have a tendency to put too much into how a player practices and don't account for gamers.

good luck getting that info here

I thought card was going to be good to. I tend agree with you, that arky game had a Garrett Gilbert affect on him. And he always had a nagging injury to. I dont remember the game but I remember him having to gut it out on 1 leg.
-
That is a definite concern. 2-12 against SJSU. The score isn't what bothers me, it's the execution and lack of consistency. It's the sloppiness and laziness getting 12 penalties. I saw Simmons jump offsides 2 or 3 times.

Would love thoughts from the mods on this. @Bobby Burton @CJ Vogel @Gerry Hamilton https://www.instagram.com/reel/DORP-JSCdAY/?igsh=cmdkajV4ZTJtdDU4

I think if you don't get Ewers in the portal, he definitely would've gone after someone else. No idea what happened to Card thought he would be a better prospect but after that beating he took after the Arky game he never really seemed to be the same.

It’s hard to sustain drives when you’re constantly putting yourself behind the chains with penalties.
-
They all have bad moments. Vince and Colt aren't immune to that either. There's just tons of overreactions. Todays game thread is proof of that lol. Just think if Quinn stayed at osu and we had to run it back with Thompson or Card. No shade to those guys but no thanks

Lol coming out of the half, Michigan RB Haynes goes to the house for a long TD run. That looked way too easy on this "elite" DL of Oklahoma.
-
Anyone want to acknowledge whatever Arch did to his shoulder? Watch the throw with around 4:00 left in the 2nd quarter. He grimaces like this after half a dozen (low) throws through the game. Y’all want to ruin this kid or are we going to sit him a few low profile games? He has not looked right this year, since early in the Ohio State game.

Mateer looks pretty decent against Michigan 12-18 160 yards 1 td and 1 int. He also happens to be their leading rusher with 9 carries for 30 yards and another td. Seems like he is their offense at the moment. Up 14-0 on Michigan at half time right now. Any other games of interest right now?
