Intel from Saturday's Baseball Scrimmage?

I was there working in the Dell Diamond control room! From what I can remember these are my takeaways: Aiden Robbins must have liked the walk up song I picked for him. Tinney has real pop. Almost homered to deep left center field but was off the Dell Diamond wall. Notched a base hit through the left side that would’ve taken someone’s arm off. Temo Becerra will be a fun watch. We grounded into 3 double plays Also 12 innings is a lot of baseball to play lol. UT wanted to play 9 innings, tech wanted to play 15 innings . Met in the middle and played 12. - Today

Finebaum entering transfer portal?

They're gauging Finebaum's interest because Pearl isn't running. They don't want a Republican primary standoff. -

It’ll be Paul Finebaum against Bruce Pearl competing for the Republican US Senate seat being vacated by Tommy Tuberville (who is now running for Governor). Only in Alabama. -

Maybe he’s just burned out and ready for a change of scenery. Good for him -
I doubt our offensive output against Florida is directly correlated with the criminal game. Florida's defense doesn't give up as many explosive plays and is more fundamentally sound, despite all the nonsense you hear about criminal defense. The criminals would not have beaten LSU or Miami on the road. Doesn't matter who plays QB for the criminals. They can't score more than 17 on our defense.

Found this at the Baseball website. They must have posted it earlier today. Longhorns score seven unanswered runs to cruise past Red Raiders, 9-3 ROUND ROCK, Texas — The Texas Longhorns opened their fall slate with a 9-3 exhibition win over Texas Tech in a 12-inning contest at Dell Diamond on Saturday afternoon. Texas mounted six unanswered tallies across the fifth and sixth, highlighted by a pair of two-run doubles from Aiden Robbins. Robbins also kickstarted the offensive outburst with a run-scoring single in the first, finishing 3-for-4 with five RBI. Following a standout freshman campaign, Adrian Rodriguez picked up where he left off, reaching safely four times. Rodriguez tallied three hits and plated two runs across the nearly five-hour affair. With the Longhorns and Red Raiders tied in the fifth, Rodriguez delivered a go-ahead RBI single. Two batters later, Robbins notched a two-run extra-base hit to extend the lead to 5-2. The next inning, Texas padded its advantage thanks to a bases-loaded walk and another two-RBI double from Robbins. The six-run cushion was more than enough for the Longhorns' pitching staff, which held the visitors to only three runs on seven hits. After yielding two tallies in the third, Texas held Texas Tech scoreless over the next eight frames, including four straight hitless innings. Freshmen Brett Crossland, Brody Walls, Sam Cozart and Brady Westphal combined for five strikeouts over that stretch. Overall, the Longhorns used 13 different hurlers, with the first 11 arms all tossing one frame apiece, as scheduled. Left-hander Cal Higgins logged the win, punching out a pair in a shutdown fifth. Up next, Texas returns home to host Lamar on Oct. 3. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. -
John Mateer Surgery Update

Yep that’s one area that definitely improved in the program once Mack was gone. Texas has only lost to OU by double digits one time since 2014 and that was in the 2018 big 12 title game. Didn’t matter how good OU was or how bad Texas was. Herman, Strong, and now Sark understand the importance of that game. They may not always win, but they’re gonna give OU their best shot. Hope Sark lays it on BV for the third time in four seasons and wins by 30+ again. This would be Sark’s most impressive win over OU by far if he pulls it off. But that all comes down to how this offense looks in Gainesville this Saturday. - Yesterday

Blake responded to my question in Coffee and Football that they were working on something. Someone posted on Twitter that the game was 9-3. Supposedly no stats were kept, but someone posted updates on Twitter during the game. It appears that the new guy from the Northeast that batted over 400 last year and won the batting title at Cape Cod this summer had three hits (2 doubles) and 5 RBIs (Aiden Robbins). A lot of guys pitched and most did really well. -
Classic. Paternity Test (Bama’s your daddy) and Vandy Pimp were greatness.

I saw an 11-2 type of score in favor of UT late in the scrimmage. I’ve seen someone say we have 5-6 legit offensive threats at the plate this year after watching the game. -

He did it once in 2005 against a bad OU team, but he didn’t have a name your score game as OU did so many times against him in the early 2000s and that one utter failure with Ash as QB in 2012 I think. -
Mack never got a chance to ram it up Bob Stoops’ whosehewhatsit though. He ran up the score all of those that he could. Bon Stoops had Mack’s number and ate his breakfast and lunch.
-
So much this, Mack would back off the pedal where as Stoops rammed it up Mack’s arse every chance he got. This is football, put in the backups if we’re up big but don’t hamstring them to just 3 runs and a punt. Let them play.

The idling motorcycle and Alabama checking the backseat for the Vandy Pimp was gold.

I don’t care if they’re full strength or having to field an 8 man team of the lame and halt. OU will happily drop 70 on a depleted Texas squad and loose nary an ounce of sleep over it if the roles were reversed. No quarter asked and none given. -
