The Real Reason We Are Struggling

Kudos. Nice break from your self loathing 😉 -
What are these “dog house antics” you speak of?

Is this Ron Weaver?
-
At least his burner isn't wrong lol

1931. This is what you are forgetting.

They are a problem. Livingstone is our only play maker. Wingo can only catch balls thrown at him. He runs poor routes. mosely at this point is unknown. The fact that Niblett gets as many reps as he does is a problem. Either way they need to infuse more guys with play maker ability into the offense at receiver and again Wingo is not a play maker.
-
The WR group made plays when they had the opportunities. They aren’t the problem.

I think the only thing that might infuse it but would actually be growing pains is roll with this kind of lineup Goosby - Kibble - Cruz - Campbell - Brooks just go young across and maybe those guys play with more fire, athleticism, and leverage. I would say Neto at LG but he’s quit on this coach because of the coaches arrogance in playing an inferior Stroh. Do the same with the WR group.

And it starts with coaching

I’m being sarcastic about 2021. -
If that's the case then this falls on Flood. He knew what he had and had the portal to find players, but opted to pick this group instead. I don't think he's had a dominant line since he's been at Texas and he's had some great talent.

It's embarrassing. There's no excuse in the world for Texas to be this bad. -
Who is this Neto you speak of? Because we relied on him to the tune of 0 snaps against Florida. Id personally like to see him get a shot and his position coach not be heard from for half a season.
-
The guy making a million dollars is the root of the problem. His evaluations and dog house antics are why we are where we are now. I wouldn’t expect him to find a solution either.
-
I absolutely agree. I’ve defended Flood for years, but at this point I’m questioning everything. The warning signs were there before, I just thought he could reel in more Kelvin Banks type players. Turns out Banks was an outlier. Even with guys like Banks showing individual promise, run blocking in short yardage situations has been a glaring weakness under Flood from day one. Five years in, it’s still a weakness. The OL looks unhealthy, unphysical, and underdeveloped/poor evals and that’s a reflection of both recruiting and coaching. It’s extremely concerning, and honestly, there’s no defending it anymore. Especially considering it’s going to get Manning injured. I’d imagine the Manning family isn’t happy with the protection he has up front. Honestly, no QB would look good behind this OL and it’s hindering Arch’s development in a large way.

Totally deserved -
Sarkisian is more guilty of trusting Flood. There is nothing he’s done to get a pass. He has one good class. What is the future of this line? How’s recruiting? Tackle is a real issue. What if Goosby leaves? Who’s up?
-
Sarkisian the OC is going no where and I disagree about deck chairs. Development is a problem. It’s been a problem. When you lean on a true freshman over guys that have been in your program multiple years it’s not good.
-
I’m not saying Kyle Flood has done enough to keep his job, he hasn’t. Recruiting hasn’t met expectations, and development clearly hasn’t either. Something needs to change, no question about it. But let’s be real, swapping OL coaches won’t fix the core problem. Sark is just as responsible for what we’re seeing. The long developing routes, predictable play calls, blocking schemes, and lack of execution and discipline up front those all trace back to the head coach/OC just as much as it does Flood. Sark and Flood both personally evaluated that OL room and decided Texas didn’t need anyone from the portal. Sark even bragged about it at SEC Media Days. That’s not on Flood alone that’s on Sark’s judgment and his system. Until that changes, the results won’t either IMO.

There is no point in firing flood if you’re not bringing in a play calling QB coach/OC. Otherwise as Bobby says you’re just reshuffling the titanic deck chairs.
