  1. Past hour
  2. Never gave of crap what Tiger did or didn't do. It's pansy golf. Who cares? Guys standing and swinging their arms. No athleticism. No nothing but gooberness.
  3. Today
  4. Golf is for pansies, Gerry. Tennis is real athleticism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7l320iUZJY
  5. In spite of that exhibition, Rivals still has Ojo as the top 2026 recruit in Texas. Total loss of credibility. Every Edge I saw spun Ojo like a top.
  6. Watched it live in 2010 when it happened. Remember thinking, "I don't think I'll ever see anything like that again." I haven't.
  7. Coolest thing in sports I've ever seen. Kobe doesn't flinch. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/H8SZtdgiGkI
  8. If Texas signs 27 players … Sark will make a run at back-to-back top 2 classes Agreed
  9. Another search said six of the nine greatest players of all time are Lakers. No Mavs, Spurs or Rockets on the list. Kareem, Kobe, Magic, LeBron, Wilt, and Shaq.
  10. Just did an AI search that says Kobe hit 37 game winning shots in his career. LeBron has hit 8. Lebron has played five years longer.
  11. Just need to remind CJ that LeBrick sucks, his age bias notwithstanding.
  12. Jokes on you, I planned on crying tonight
  13. "I can't wait to see Ant Hill knock the sonic rings out of Mateer"
  14. Well that would've been nice in the red zone when he was at Texas...lol. Just playing, glad to see him doing well out there and making the most of his opportunities. Hope he kills it in the NFL. Maybe in 10 or so years, they'll be talking about him like they did Brady.
  15. Looking forward to the Dallas date!!
  16. I KNOW what she's gonna do in Norman. She's gonna enjoy the nightlife because it's a big deal after the social scene in Lubbock. She's also going to count her NIL dollars one at a time. Finally, she's going to hire a Freshman student at OU to take all of her tampering communications coming out of Lubbock because there will be so many phone calls, electronic messages and snail mail letters she won't have enough time to answer them all.
  17. Subtracting the F-bombs, this is what I've read the conversation went like. Kobe: You know I'm the best player in the world, right? Iverson: You ain't even the best player on your team. Kobe: I'm kicking your a--. Iverson: You can't stop me. Kobe: I'm stopping you and winning the game. Iverson: I'm the damn MVP. Kobe: I'm about to win my second title. Iverson: It ain't you. Kobe: It's all me. You wanna ball after we finish here? Refs step in. Tell them to shut up. Iverson says Kobe started it. Kobe: Of course I started it. You gonna man up after the game or talk to the refs?
  18. Rumor circulating around recruiting circles that OU has instructed Nagy to remove the currency from the Schooner and replace it with NIL IOUs. That should work, right?!
  19. For my benefit as an Old Guy... assume that means it's likely that Tua gets his bell rung.
  20. Wow! People ask about "Culture" on a college football team. This is just one part of team culture. Hard work and dedication are noted and rewarded. From the 5-star players to the walk-ons...all for the Team. This makes my old alum self proud. Hook 'Em!
  21. This probably isn’t what you want to hear on a football message board, but post-MBA to IB will be a tough route to buyside. You won’t have the buyside experience to fill a VP role in PE, and you’re likely too experienced to start as an Associate (which is usually a 2/3 year role that ends in an MBA). Your best bet is probably energy - some of the energy PE groups can be a little less “traditional” than non-energy. There are still terrific career opportunities available, but the “fairway” buyside gigs will be tough. You could also consider some of the less traditional type shops like family offices, independent sponsors launching, etc. Maybe head of corp dev at a PE backed portco that is a serial acquirer? The few folks I know that did IB post-MBA are all either still bankers or in a corp finance role (eg, CFO). Just my two cents. What did you do pre-MBA?
  22. Thank you for the reply. I have an accounting background and hope to leverage those skills plus what I learn in my MBA. I will network as much as possible and will work tirelessly at any summer associate internship I get. My buddy on the alumni board for WSFM is also going to help me out. My fiancé and I, prefer NY than Houston. However, I’d take the best opportunity I receive and run with it.
  23. How we Arch and Ant Hill to talk to Downs and JJ during the OSU game.
  24. At UT you need to work extremely hard to get excellent grades. Get a banking internship. While there, work your ass off to do great work. Build as many deep relationships as you can. A lot of people neglect the relationships portion….relationships alone aren’t enough, but excellent work plus relationships is the way.
  25. I am about to start my MBA and have been doing some IB technical prep to help me get ahead of the process. I know UT sends a lot of kids to Houston for Energy IB and some to NY. Any alumni have any insights on their experience, exit opportunities, and/or advice/recommendations? My ultimate goal is to work 2/3 years in IB and head towards buy side. Looking forward to the process. Hookem
  26. why would a nice GA boy want to dead-end his football career by attending/playing at College Station Community College football? https://www.espn.com/college-sports/recruiting/football/story/_/id/45893737/jayce-johnson-no-3-qb-27-recruiting-class-picks-texas-am

  27. I love watching these "you're on scholarship" videos. Inspiring!
