  1. Past hour
  2. Looks to me like people are more worked up about a marginal player than one wanting more money. Let’s not forget that the one thing which binded a player to a school was and remains a year to year deal because the schools like it that way.
  3. Today
  4. Is he the dude with long hair that gets the chants going at the baseball games? We call that guy “superfan” if that’s who you are referring to.
  5. I agree with you here. We can't just shift all the agency to the players and not give the colleges a leg to stand on. If you want to be paid and treated like professionals, than that is what happens. Although I think the Murphy situation was weird, because he played really well there and I don't think he deserved that treatment from them. But that is unfortunately the reality of college sports now. They wanted to be paid, well there is pro's and con's to that.
  6. I know sometimes you guys do guests whether that's coaches, players, player's parents, etc. I do not believe yall have had on Scott Wilson before, i'm sure one of yall probably know who he is, but if not he has been to 1,500+ straight Longhorns baseball games both home and away/neutral. He also hasn't missed one football game since some year in the 1970's. I know this platform is mainly about news regarding the team and all that, but I just thought it would be an interesting idea to hear his experiences being at virtually every game in both football and baseball no matter the location and essentially dedicating his life to Texas athletics. Hook em'🤘
  7. Not shocking as I believe Nico is the nephew of Coach Cordell Landers. Yeah that clown that pimped Damonic Williams last year. Remember the LSU trip and the sparkler video 🤣🤣🤣. So if he is involved it is shady as hell. And sure Unc gets his fair share $$. Damn lucky our Collective is run the way it is, and our philosophy on how it is done👍🤘
  8. Qadence Samuels from UConn just entered the portal. She’s got good length and size which we need.
  9. This is such a stupid statement. In no way is Nico’s production on the field worth anywhere near what him and his buddies are asking. He is not a premium player at all. He’s basically a carton of milk with 2 days left to drink it to your point…. If I have the best milk with a shelf stable life on it that I know I can sell at a higher rate is one thing, but Nico certainly isn’t that.
  10. Last year he threw 19 TD. 11 came vs Chattanooga, UTEP and Vanderbilt. 4 of 9 in SEC play came vs Vandy. This dude deserves to be told to take a hike.
  11. And a lot of people on here have the AUDACITY to say everything is all fine and dandy in college sports. FOH
  12. Texas seemed kinda shocked she was going in the portal, tbh. I reached out today about it, but it’s still so early that I’m not 100% sure what the plan is regarding her. let me ask again in a couple of days.
  13. No, I don't think it was right but the other side of it is that if they want to be paid like professionals then getting cut and replaced will be a part of it too. And again, Nico will have some tough questions to answer when he's sitting in front of NFL personnel trying to explain why he up & left his team. It hits much differently when a QB does it as opposed to any other position. For example, all of the guys like Bear Alexander that shut it down after 4 games didn't get nearly as much attention as the UNLV QB that did the exact same thing.
  14. No, it’s the kids uncle and the kid’s father driving the drama, but the real question is what school do they have lined-up making a big NIL offer that prompted this game of chicken with Tennessee? I’m guessing USC. FYI, Nico’s uncle is none other than street agent wannabe “Coach” Cordell Landers…yes, the same guy who led the Damonic Williams NIL sweepstakes last year (which turned out to be a lousy investment for OU). “Coach Cord” is a SoCal guy (Fresno area) who got hired as a recruiting analyst by Florida a few years ago, and got immediately fired within months (due to alleged recruiting infractions). LOL. Since the beginning of the NIL era, he’s now playing the role of “agent” for kids he knows from SoCal area, including Nico (his nephew), Damonic Williams, and others.
  15. I just don’t understand it from Nico’s perspective, especially given the timing. Sometimes we gotta remember that these kids don’t always have people around them that want what’s best for the kid. I have no idea if that is happening here but it’s not always the kid is all I’m saying. Very interested to see how this plays out.
  16. With Rori coming back I’m not sure they target another guard but Vic could value bringing in more dynamism and scoring after missing on Chavez. However, I don’t think Fulwiley would even pick Texas. She will be looking for a coach that allows her to play with freedom offensively so I’m thinking maybe a Maryland, NC State, TCU potentially. But this is all my speculation and I have no info on what she will do.
  17. I’m hoping they meltdown to end the year and just have it be a completely ugly year or as a consolation I hope they play just well enough to get Aggie hopes up only to fall on their faces lol
  18. See, this is part of the NIL stuff that I don't like. I'm all for players getting paid, but now it's starting to be more and more like the NFL. This is just stupid, imo.
  19. This will be the new norm, because college athletes are now getting paid. Quinn was the first to leave high school early and take an NIL deal, and now how many early entries do we have in the spring, that should either be high school juniors or seniors right now? The game has changed. No longer is every kid so in love with the university that they'll turn a blind eye to green money. Plus, we only know what the media is telling us about the situation. There's two sides to every story. Maybe they promised some things that didn't come to fruition. You don't know.
  20. Was is right for Duke to send Malik packing after a 9 win season at Duke, and then pay a kid 8 million for two years to take his spot? When it's the organization making the call, there's no outrage. When it's the player over the organization, you don't hear any push back.
  21. Yeah I know the rule - you REALLY think someone is going to pay him $4-6 million NIL to sit on the bench a year, then he could simply move on again? No way.
  22. No it’s the kids dad
