  1. Past hour
  2. Damn heat index is 115.3 now.
  3. @Gerry Hamilton Phil Jackson explicitly stated that he gave Kobe Bryant more responsibility in managing the court game than he ever gave Michael Jordan. The 2001 Playoff Comments During the 2001 NBA playoffs, Jackson praised Bryant's evolution into a complete floor leader. He contrasted their specific roles by highlighting that Jordan was primarily tasked with making plays out of double or triple teams, whereas Bryant was burdened with orchestrating the entire offensive and defensive system. Pippen did that for the Bulls. Like Jordan, Kobe had to close games for the Lakers while calling offense and defense. Phil said he couldn't put the ball in Shaq's hands at the end of games because he was poor free throw shooter. So much for Shaq being the best player for the Lakers in 2000-2004.
  4. You had me at hello
  5. Yep - and Grady Emerson (consensus top 2 player in next month's draft) would also be a Longhorn.
  6. Would be great for college baseball and would help with growing the game
  7. I like this. I agree that it would be cool to watch those younger elite talents on college teams instead of hearing about them in 4 or 5 years.
  8. The big part that the MLBPA is going to push back on is the owners wanting a salary cap. thats going to lead to a strike
  9. The Pro CBA - they have to approve this for it to go into affect. NCAA has no control over Pro eligibility.
  10. Sacramento State does not fill 100+K stadiums, as Bobby might say! 🏈🤘🏻🏈🤘🏼🏈🤘🏈🤘🏽🏈🤘🏾🏈🤘🏿🏈
  11. This would be MLB CBA not college.
  12. This actually makes a lot of sense from the MLB side. - Reduces the bad early evaluations on the high school kids and capital commitments - NIL allows college programs to be the defacto lower level minor league system - MLB can allocate the money saved back to increasing the slot values in the top rounds These are just a few reasons that jump out but I could see the MLBPA pushing back on age requirements for eligibility for high school kids and possibly other things.
  13. Imagine Emerson and Bumilla on campus next year 😂😂🔥🔥.. Schloss’ elite recruiting would really make Texas scary every year
  14. MLB players would have to agree
  15. College players are not employees, thus no CBA possible!
  16. Yep. Brett Baty, Kyle Mueller, Simeon Woods-Richardson all would’ve been Horns.
  17. This would make college baseball so much better talent wise
  18. The players would need to agree to it in the CBA negotiations.
  19. @Jeff Howe any updates on targets ? Thanks for all the great work you guys do!!🤘🏻
  20. Texas has had some absolute STUDS in the past they never made it to campus. this would be cool
  21. Major League Baseball trying to get colleges to do their low level player development and reduce overhead.
  22. I have come around to liking the super conference. Otherwise you are regulating the market and subsidizing the weak which ultimately creates a lesser product IMO. The left out schools will fill the gap between the new supers and DII and DIII. If the market wants to see those teams play they will have the tv deals to back it all. Otherwise, people have voted with their pocketbook and it was never meant to be.
  23. Someone asked me what that means. It means 1 point for each score regardless where you shoot from on the court. If you scored, you got the the ball back. You had the check the ball with the defender at the top of the key after scoring. There weren't no foul call BS. You could try to call one, but the guys watching wouldn't back you up if you didn't really get fouled. That said, I never ran into a guy that wouldn't admit he fouled you if you called it. You didn't call it unless it was on the shot.
