  1. Past hour
  2. College football has become a business with NIL. If you aren’t producing like you are getting compensated then things don’t add up for the school to pay you that much. Texas has the money if they really want to keep the guys that are leaving, But chose to go a different route, Simple.
  3. Given the way the season played out, my positional rankings would follow as such: EDGE LB DL DB QB CB WR TE RB OL
  4. Revisiting Preseason Positional Confidence Levels **** Came across an old tweet of mine that I had written and published right before the start of the season. It was basically, where do I feel the most confidence in each position group entering the season. Obviously, things did not go 100% according to my preseason predictions, but it wasn't entirely far off. By end of the year, quarterback certainly played into the top three position room conversation, but it took much longer than I anticipated getting there. Next, I don't think the safety room played as a top five unit in the second half of the season. Running back was too high originally as well. Let me explain the wide receiver spot – There was plenty of unknown and at the time no time table set for Emmett Mosley V in regards to his debut as a Longhorn. Parker Livingstone performed admirably when on the field. But altogether, there was plenty of unknowns entering the season. Let me know where you thought the positional results ended up in comparison to your preseason expectations. Who outperformed their ranks vs. who underperformed and left some meat on the bone.
  5. Technically, if they lose first round we’ll have more playoff wins this year than them lol (Arizona State was January 1)
  6. College basketball is also useful for looking at what including everyone in the postseason does for the regular season. Probably 75% of people who watch March Madness do not keep up with the regular season, because it is pointless. It’s mind numbing to think of basically the entire top 25 getting in. This strategy is “just let everyone except for the really crappy teams in”.
  7. he just redshirted for us at another University so they could pay him to be on the bench before coming over?
  8. Really of the teams left, the only one I can see myself being content with winning is Indiana if just so that it's a new team that won't make it more difficult for Texas to recruit against.
  9. I will be surprised if Alabama doesn’t beat OU this time around. If Carson Beck doesn’t blow it the U has a pretty decent shot to knock of Aggy.
  10. I’m not rooting for OU or A&M. I’m rooting against the joy of everyone involved. Best outcome? They win just enough to annoy Miami and Bama fans, then get absolutely flattened later so nobody’s happy. Failing that, I’m with Team Asteroid.
  11. From Hi to Oops. Excellent decision making.
  12. That is absolute insanity. Maybe he turns out to be an elite level QB, but to pay $3 million to a guy who hasn’t thrown for more than 600 yards and 1 td in a season and has a career rating of 135, that’s a huge gamble. They’re paying this unproven qb double what Colin Simmons and Ant Hill made this year. Surely Baugh won’t accept much less than that now. If he stays, those two players alone are going to drain the NIL coffers. Edit: also can’t speak to the legitimacy of the source. No UF sites are corroborating yet, although they do indicate that UF is targeting him as their primary QB.
  13. It’s easy for me, I have six favorite teams: Texas Longhorns, Houston Astros, whoever plays the Dallas cowgirls, whoever plays against baker mayfield ( currently the Buccaneers), whoever plays 0u, and whoever plays aggy
  14. Today
  15. I’m pulling for the asteroid.
  16. If either played the Martian all stars intent on dominating earth I’d dress up as Marvin the Martian.
  17. I can't root for any of them, Jim.
  18. I believe the committee doesn't give 2 sh1ts about being right or wrong and outside of the Texas fanbase, no one else cares that Texas was omitted. So I want bama and miami to take them to the woodshed.
  19. When I pull for those two, shoot me, I have lost my mind.
  20. Softball should have a great year too.
  21. I want them both to lose and I believe that they will most likely both lose indeed
  22. I subscribe to the belief that nothing good ever comes from A&M and OU having success—EVER. That being said, part of me wants both of them to destroy Miami and Alabama to make the CFP committee’s decision to omit Texas look terrible. We completely dismantled those two teams, so their success makes us look good by comparison. Let them both get to the quarterfinals and then get stomped by IU and OSU.
  23. Don't know the reasoning, but my guess would be that it was not amicably. There were rumors there was some beef with the coach. The reason I say that it was not amicably, is because I remember something to the effect in one of her posts about transferring to Texas, she threw shade saying "transferring to a program where they know how to win championships" - which was right after the season Texas annihilated Nebraska in the championship match. The animosity between Texas and Nebraska in volleyball is about how it is between Texas and ou in football imo. One of the rumors on the volleyball forum on former player Kayla Caffey (who also transferred from Nebraska) is that allegedly Cook accused her of being selfish and not a team player, so when she transferred to Texas, she never had her name put on her jersey and only had Texas to rub it in his face that she was a team player.
  24. We should cancel ND series ASAP, imo. We are doing what is best for Texas...not trying to penalize ND
  25. I may be considered a poor sport but I hope the Sooners and Farmers each lose significantly in the first round of CFP. It's bad enough that they flaunt their CFP appearances to us Horns, but first round wins would hurt. Ags losing to Miami is rough for me because Miami is way up on my "can't stand them" list. Anyone else feel same? Jim
