  1. Past hour
  2. Swinging with the big dogs. Love it!
  3. Regarding Sark, it was telling that he said in his PC yesterday that he got to get home and watch other games Saturday night and was watching them through the lens of wondering if any other teams were having the same kind of early season issues that we are. He said something like "i'm watching the games like, is it just us?" Everything is coachable and correctable within the margins of the talent on this offense, and I have a strong feeling he's going to use that two week break before UF to put together a new plan regarding what he's seen so far from this team, but as of now it does seem like he's feeling frustration regarding our early season offensive issues, team penalties, etc.
  4. Sure there's things we all want to see, but at the same time you have to look at what Texas is in on either offense or defense situationally and put your headcoach hat on and ask, what is Sark trying to accomplish here and were they successful?
  5. I want Arch to be 30/30, Texas to win by 50+, 3 INT by the defense, and no penalties. You know…easy stuff.
  6. I want to see us gash them in the run game consistently, 5 penalties or few(closer to zero the better obviously), I want to see our OL be able to pick up twist and stunts.
  7. Let’s not pretend we weren’t a part of the problem with the ill-conceived Longhorn Network. A general truth in life is that anytime someone becomes passionate about something they will spend time and money to try and get better at it or do it more often. The media has over the last 30 years taken advantage of what used to be one of the more pure athletic endeavors in college football. When the athletes saw how much the schools were making from ESPN and CBS and Fox deals, they wanted their cut. The old lie we told ourselves that football supported the academics is an old wives tale now. For better or worse we are living in a free market system where money is going to either turn college football into another version of the NFL or there will be some kind of return to the old school feeling that college football is more pure than pro sports. I don’t know if we can put the toothpaste back in the tube, but at least Campbell is trying. And don’t think for a minute we don’t have plenty of billionaire supporters too. We just dont hear about what they are doing publicly. This has been one of the more interesting threads ion OTF I’ve seen and I enjoy the spirited debate I could use a little less of the ad hominems and petty bickering though . The billionaires are not taking notes from us. 🤘🤘🤘
  8. A larger margin of victory than the previous game is not what constitutes improving, well, at least not in coaches eyes. You ever wonder why Sark doesn't seemed panicked as much or about the same things most of we fans are? First, you have to break the season down in terms of preseason and regular season. Winning out of conference games is great, but the goal is to beat the Ohio States of the world at the end of the season more than it is in game one. Back to why Sark isn't as panicked, concerned maybe, but that's because Sark is playing the long game. Could Sark had lined up and sped by or pushed San Jose State around, ummmm yeah, but that wouldn't do anything for improving. Sark is putting his team in situations during these games in order to get teach tape. These young guys don't learn from running by athletes they're better than, they learn from mistakes. As good as Oregon and Ohio State looked in week two, did they get better? No. If you have a little patience and put the game situations this team failed at in August and September in your memory bank, when you look back in December they won't be the same team. In sports you're either getting better or getting worse, nobody stays the same. Are there mental areas to clean up? Yes, especially the penalties, but that's up to each and every player to pay more attention to detail and be in position so you're not holding, to watch the ball so you're not leaving early, on Arch to make sure two players aren't shifting at the same time before he calls for the snap. So don't watch these next two games looking for score, watch for goal to go, early down success, third down conversions, forcing turnovers, and getting off the feild. Doing so will calm many of your worries.🤘🏿
  9. Gerry very positive & optimistic this morning on coffee & football . all is well in Texas world .
  10. Today
  11. I make that face every time I hit a golf ball. I'm not injured or in pain.
  12. I’d say they are when they pay billions for existing content. You weren’t a business major, were you?
  13. Well I wasn't going to say it lol.... but you're 100% correct!
  14. We contributed to the KU win total or it could have been worse.
  15. Maybe he was listening to Gerry's Tushy ad read?
  16. He wasn’t there with Briles but anyone associating with those people in Waco is tainted in my book. Too many of the enablers remain and I know too many fine rape u folks who think they did nothing wrong. Same regarding State College.
  17. Funny thing about that play - we had 10 men on the field
  18. I think we're destined for a FBS split into two tiers, FBS1 and FBS2. Pool the media rights for FBS1 and FBS2 as 1 package and sell them. Then distribute the revenue accordingly. FBS1: SEC, B1G, Big 12, ACC. Each conference will receive 4 teams yearly in the CFP to build out a 16-team playoff. Notre Dame will have to finally join a conference. FBS2: Pac-12, Mountain West, American, Mid-American, Conference USA, Sun Belt. FBS2 will have their own 16-team playoff. AI tells me the average Mountain West program earns $3.5M in media rights annually and that they could earn up to $10-13.5M annually if they pool their rights. I assume if the distribution were 80-20 to FBS1, 20% still provides a school earning only $3.5M/year in media rights now, more money in a pooled system. We don't blink one bit when we hear about the FCS National Champion. I, like many others, actually watch the FCS Playoffs (while wondering how those fans sit in the Dakotas in snowy, windy December) and enjoy it more than some of the low-level bowls. I probably pay closer attention to these games, too. I think we'd feel the exact same way about the FBS2 National Champion. I'd much rather watch the FBS2 Playoffs in sold-out campus stadiums, that have a truly meaningful outcome, than the LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk in SoFi with 90% of the seats empty. Gronk would be entertaining tho.
  19. But he winced Bobby darn it there has to be something wrong with his arm 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  20. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with Arch’s arm.
  21. It was Texas lined up on 1-yard line with Townsend in the backfield.
  22. I made the mistake of taking you off ignore. You wouldn’t recognize integrity because every position you have is with you in mind. You applied your logic into my post by trying to point out Texas has billionaires as if that would matter to my larger point. Now, your goalpost moving is that an entity, not an individual, needs x amount of dollars to be a top program. A false equivocation in any context but the real issue is that I think you believe what you say. I used to think it was a bit as some people thrive just being a pill to others. Btw, Texas absolutely has a history of individual donors with far too much influence over the program. During those years, despite being flush with cash, Texas stunk. Short story long, thank you for reminding me to permanently put you back on ignore so that I don’t participate in gumming up a thread. 🤘🏽
  23. That's true. Sark denied DK tickets to come to Texas games when DK asked thereafter. Too full of himself. High school boys better know who they are unless they're Kobe.
  24. And A Shawn Robinson had an elephant deliver an Alabama hat and spurn Texas. You have to focus on what you get, not what you don’t. Dakorian Moore’s recruitment and subsequent commitment was a joke and spit in the face of Sark who rolled out the red carpet for him and his family. The attention to him probably cost us other recruits in the process. Let him be up there in the Oregon, hope he enjoys the winter.
  25. @Jeff Howe, any chance we can get a thread on the board for Second Watch (or whatever it's going to be called going forward)? It's one of my favorite OTF features. I know y'all can't share video, but it would be awesome if you could reference game clock times for specific formations, schemes etc. I ask, because Rod mentioned 14 personnel and I totally missed that watching in DKR and when I watched the ABC broadcast. ...whatever the case, great content.🤘
  26. If we could do it all over again I’d still wish we landed eric singleton jr over a kid we HOPED could contribute as a true freshman
