  2. Nice debut for him! 🤘💥https://www.2news.com/news/local/melendez-crushes-a-grand-slam-in-his-debut-as-reno-aces-sit-down-las-vegas/article_4007242a-aac4-4ca0-9749-29f5452077f1.html
  3. DCS is also very overpriced - you can see great stuff, but man, it’s expensive compared to other shows/online
  4. The big show in Texas is the Dallas Card show. It can be overwhelming though. There is an improving Austin card show that I like going to now.
  5. Will be very interesting to see if the Gators can keep the sophomore from Willis High healthy... https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/45886666/florida-qb-dj-lagway-returns-practice-following-calf-injury
  6. I’ve watched a few games from last year back and what Baker is saying about playing the DL less but wanting them to be more impactful on their reps is real. Texas let a lot of teams back in the game last year due to a stagnant offense and a defense that ran out of gas. Arizona state is a prime reminder of that. I don’t see that happening on this years defensive line. I think we could genuinely go 8 DTs deep and 6-7 DEs deep.
  7. She’s a 5++ so you take her and figure it out later.

  9. Really happy for the Hispanic Titanic! Thanks for posting, Sarah! 🤘
  10. Ah, good looking out there. I wasn't sure if they grabbed guys out of the portal at OL.
  11. Hit a grand slam in his first game....total of 5 rbi's for the game.
  12. They might or might not be “dudes”, but they did pick up 3 OL in the portal
  13. Did they measure him with his cleats and helmet on or did he have a growth spurt? Nick Saban in 5’6’’
  14. Sayin is who I expect to trot out there again us. It’s probably already decided.
  15. From what I've been reading, the DBs are happy because they are going to be helped by a better pass rush. The D-Line is happy because they think they might get a few coverage sacks. And everyone is saying that the linebackers are always in the right place. Dat's a long day for opposing offenses.
  16. Both teams are replacing almost every OL; the OL that plays the best (most cohesive) wins the games.
  17. Well, I don't recall them picking up any dudes in the portal for the OL, but they usually recruit OL really well. But that is actually a good question. Does anyone return from last years starting 5 for them? I know we're replacing 4 guys, but 2 of the 4 have starting experience and one other is going on year 4 in the program. So I'm pretty confident in our guys.
  18. CJ, what's their o-line looking like? It doesn't look like they have anyone with any significant experience in the competition. If that o-line isn't stout, there could be a lot of panicky throws coming out of that backfield.
  19. The defense is absolutely stacked. We're finally out of rebuild mode and into reload mode, and we have some damn good ammo.
  20. I've been to a lot of Longhorns road games. Never been to the 'Shoe. Watched VY and crew win there on television. Under normal circumstances in '05 I would have gone to Columbus. But I was in the process of getting a divorce (and giving up the season tickets I had for many years at DKR) ... the painful part of divorce. Friends have told me the "fans" at Columbus made sure that Texas people knew they were not welcome. After hearing how our folks were treated, I was glad the Longhorns played well and won the game. The most hostile venues I have experienced were Kyle Field in the 1970s and Arkansas in the 1980s. Never been to Lubbock but a buddy had a bad experience there in '08 ( so did I watching on TV). OSU gave Texas such a small number of tickets you're fortunate to get to attend in person. Maybe the Bucks fans will be in a bit more sportsmanlike mood for the season opener. I have a better feeling about this year's game going in than I had before the game in '05. I hope you have fun and Hook 'Em!
  21. I'm not worried about the DB's. Tons of talent waiting in the wings for their chance to get a spot. McDonald, Guilbeau have experience. Muhammed is that guy. Taaffe is our boy. Now they just need to pair with someone at S. I'm certain Williams will earn his way back, but I think there's a few guys there that could push in (one being McDonald) and the other likely Filsaime. Can't forget a guy like Black at CB. Most of these guys have some experience and I think we'll be fine. But that's just my burnt orange glasses on take, lol.
  22. You gunna get your socks knocked off, your lunch money stole and be happy about it. This D going to cause teams nightmares.
  23. That's fair, I didn't follow his recruitment that closely. In fact I try to stay out of recruiting because it can be very hard to keep up with lol. In saying that about his size, the guy we got doesn't seem that big and he seemed to be split out a lot at Cal. I think Endries is like 6'4 237?
  24. Yeah, see that makes a lot of sense right there. I remembered it had something to do with the more than just money. Sometimes being closer to family is more important.
  25. I do think the front 7 is as talented of a front 7 as I’ve ever seen at Texas. Questions remain at DB for me but I’m definitely hopeful Taaffe and the coaches get those guys ready to play.
  26. Which of those years did we have a returning All American or Fr All American at all 3 levels of the defense?
