If only NIL was a thing back in '06 or '08. Maybe VY comes back in '06 and wins a Heisman, Big 12 and natty over playing for Jeff Fisher. If you had Charles in '08 you could run the ball down Tech's throat and keep that explosive passing attack on the bench. Texas legit could've won 2 or 3 more natties during that 2005-2009 stretch.

…Mack has another National Championship if Jamaal Charles stays for 2008 season.

2026 Schedule Predictions
LonghornFan4Ever replied to LonghornFan4Ever's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Yeah that's going to be interesting. As of now, they have Texas as the home team for their three rivalry games in odd years and the away team in even years. I don't think they'll do a 9-game conference schedule anytime soon. Something's gotta give. Wouldn't mind having another big home game besides Ohio State, but besides Georgia, you would only get that from Alabama or LSU. Tennessee is a toss-up. -
Sayin is accurate and seems to have decent pocket awareness. From a psychologically competitive point of view, he hasn't exactly shown much. As soon as Arch committed to Texas, he decided he didn't want to compete with Arch. Don't really blame him. When Saban initially retired, Sayin didn't immediately hit the portal. He waited until DeBoer arrived and told Sayin that Austin Mack was coming from Washington to compete with Sayin. After that, Sayin transferred.

Ohio St. names Sayin as starter

I wouldn’t call it a reworked defensive line. They are all 4 experienced players who have been in the program. Ohio State’s starting DT’s should be dominant. -
My understanding is that Arkansas, A&M and the criminals are "permanent" rival games for Texas, unless something changes. I have no doubt the SEC wants to make sure they have Arch play against Ole Miss, Tennessee and LSU.

2026 Schedule Predictions
LonghornFan4Ever replied to LonghornFan4Ever's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Did not know that. I guess they would take Arkansas off the schedule and add a home game against Auburn. Make Missouri a home game too. -
That means if the teams are close to your prediction, the true road games would almost have to include Arkansas and A&M. I'd throw Ole Miss in as the other road game. Sec could make Arkansas come to Austin two years in a row so they could have Arch play in Baton Rouge, but they'd squawk about it.

OTF Premium Reshuffling on the OL (Monday 1:50 p.m.)

Impossible to know if you’re getting bad info or you’re doing your typical “Sark/Harris/CDC are a disaster” rant. -
They will only have three SEC road games if it's an eight game schedule. The OU game will be designated as a road game because it's home for Texas this season.

How could he have played 5 snaps when he was 3/6 passing for 19 yards? Also, I have a hard time believing playing Georgia at home (a team Notre Dame and Georgia Tech pushed around all night) is going to be “scarier” than The Shoe with four new OL and no proven wide receivers. You might want to lower your expectations just a little.

My prediction for the 2026 Texas Longhorns football schedule is as follows: September 5th - vs Texas State September 12th - vs Ohio State September 19th - vs UTSA September 26th - another home non-con game, maybe Rice or UNT October 3rd - @ Mississippi October 10th - Oklahoma in Dallas October 17th - @ Missouri October 24th - Bye Week October 31st - vs Tennessee November 7th - @ Arkansas November 14th - @ LSU November 21st - vs South Carolina November 27th - @ Texas A&M I feel pretty good about most of this. Because of when the 2026 season starts, most teams will only have one bye week in the regular season. Curious to see what y'all think the 2026 schedule could look like?

LT on 8/30 will be Austin Siereveld who was the #1 IOL backup last season and beat out Ethan Onianwa for starting LT. Siereveld has been the talk of fall camp with his rapid ascension. RT Phillip Daniels. He started the 2nd half of last season for Minnesota as a true freshman, he was huge in PJ Fleck’s future plans for his OL. He beat out Ethan Onianwa for RT and by all accounts has been dominant in fall camp. -

Ohio State is returning all 3 IOL that started against Indiana, Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, and Notre Dame. So really it’s semantics of whether you call Seth McLaughlin a starter lost or not. Against Texas, Ohio State’s starting offensive line was LT Donovan Jackson (a guard who never played tackle prior to kicking out due to injury) LG Luke Montgomery (he will be starting LG on 8/30 C Carson Hinzman (he will be starting C on 8/30) RG Tegra Tshabola (he will be starting RG on 8/30) RT Josh Fryar (he graduated, was a 3* coming out of high school who was ok, but definitely the weak link on the OL) -
Lol you FOR SURE don’t watch much Texas football. Arch Manning played 5 snaps vs UGA with 1:24 to go in the first half. He was pressured to move the ball down the field against an elite defense and the first thing he did was run for 21 yds and take us across the 50 for the first time in the game. Yeah, he took 2 sacks and fumbled a few plays later. It’s a different story actually starting the game with a script vs coming in down 17 pts with 1:24 left in the first half, wouldn’t you say? I guarantee you Arch has been in scarier situations than he will be in in Columbus. Sayin hasn’t.

My point is that they are practicing against a completely reworked DL. It reminds me of some recent year (Maybe first year Sark) when we all thought our DL was the strength of the team and going to be awesome only to learn during the season that they, in fact, were a bad DL that had been whooping up on an even worse OL in practices. Turned out the practice reports were deceiving.
