  2. Hey, this is Justin, one of the interns. I wanted to look at how Texas’ pass protection has held up against Power 4 defenses, and the numbers stood out. Here’s a new graphic on Texas’ dropback sack rate against Ohio State, Tennessee, OU, Florida and Ole Miss. Across 153 true dropbacks in those games, Texas has been sacked 17 times for -119 yards. That 11.1% sack rate ranks 72nd of 76 FBS offenses with at least 75 true dropbacks against Power 4 defenses this season, and is only ahead of Clemson, Washington, Virginia and Auburn. Most of the damage came in two games. Texas allowed only just two sacks each against Ohio State, OU and Ole Miss, but they gave up six against Tennessee and five against Florida, each on only 25 dropbacks. Add in 9 turnovers (6 INT and 3 fumbles lost), which ranks 74th of 76, and the passing game has struggled under pressure. Were Tennessee and Florida outliers, or is this a bigger protection problem?

  3. It doesn't matter if fans overlook a team. We're not on the field lol! The team ain't overlooking no one.
  4. Agreed. 8-4 he will be forced to hire an OC or leave. Donors will not just let him run it back.
  5. bet on them ML for 10x and hedge your happiness then, big time.
  6. If Arch returns to Texas and has a last season like Quinn and KJ/Dia portal to Miami/Indiana/Oregon and ball out how does Sark look? I personally think Arch has nothing more to do at Texas after this season, no matter what we finish like. Both need new folks....
  7. "Brand?" What exactly does the letter writer think Texas Tech's brand is anyway?
  8. The pattern is this: Coach is told to fire his OC or DC....if that works the next year, he is safe. If it doesn't then he is gone. Remember when Mack had to fire Greg Davis? Then Charlie Strong had to fire both his DC and OC?
  9. As long as the team isn’t overlooking miss state. message boards overlooking a team isn’t hurting anyone lol. Heck we can’t do anything here but hope they go out and play to the best of their abilities.
  10. Tried telling everyone that ALL conferences have poor officials crews.
  11. It all comes back to AJ Milwee being a complete hack
  12. Mississippi State does not have a side of the football as formidable as Oklahoma's defense, nor do they have the quantity of trench/skill talent as Florida. If Texas spots them 14 points, i guess anything can happen. MSST and Lebby will likely deploy a similar gameplan as the 2024 game where they held onto the football for about 21 of the 30 minutes in the 1st half. Shortening the game and minimizing possessions is their best bet
  13. If Texas ends up 8-4 you think it’s a guarantee he stays?
  14. Today
  15. LOL. There won't be one of those.
  16. At this point it is not a coincidence
  17. I'm the guy who posted those Kevin Mar stats on IT a few years ago. When I did that research, I reviewed every big xii game that the Kevin Mar crew officiated (including non-Texas games) and used such information to show that the Mar crew treated Texas differently than other teams. I don't think Alex's post means a lot unless he looks at non-Texas games for comparison. He mentions that they call more penalties against Texas than other crews, but it could be that said crew simply throws more flags than other crews. It isn't necessarily unfair to Texas unless they treat Texas differently than others (like the statistics showed the Mar Crew treated Texas).
  18. I'm looking them over but not overlooking them. I don't think.
  19. Graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
  20. Or keelon Russell, kamario, Carr, Sayin, etc. i think recruiting is still path 1, with the portal to patch when guys don’t hit. While it’s nice to go out and have a proven commodity, it’s not like xfers are 100% hits either. It all comes down to costs. my preferred strategy is have one 5 star guy recruited, surrounded by cheaper 3 and four stars (lotto tickets). Then be ready to go to portal if they don’t pan out. if it’s actually true that homegrown starters can be cheaper than the highest priced portal, then this would make sense. If they cost the same either way, then just get the best player. Is Arch costing more against UTs budget than leavitt? I wouldn’t think so, but he’s also unique in that brands are more willing to pay for his name outside of donor money
  21. How does he still have a job in the SEC after being suspended by the NCAA and also being under investigation for accepting a $68,000 bribe? His questionable decision making in the Oregon vs Penn State appear to have affected the integrity of that game. James Franklin accused him of basically stealing the game with phantom holding calls and one-sided officiating. He needs to go.
  22. Hmmm born and raised in Louisiana with the last name Gautreaux? Would love to see his splits for LSU games. Would guess that’s the one team who has somehow less penalties on average with this crew.
