  1. Past hour
  2. NO question. Yet another opportunity to show that a W over Ohio State will mean the exact same thing as a W over Rice in the end.
  3. Add coastal carolina lol, their coach just got fired
  4. For anyone wondering ... Jamarion Carlton is definitely going to be a 5-tech, and long limber 3-tech down the line. On a November visit to Texas ... he weighed 281 pounds. Texas staff expects him to carry over 300 pounds in time.
  5. Cancel OSU game imo. This year taught us the committee does not value that type of game even if you play really close. Schedule Northwestern or someone of that nature
  6. I don't think Ole Miss is getting in guys. Dick move by lane but you can't tell me you trust those players to play at the same level after all this.
  7. OTF community discussion: Is Texas' 2026 schedule for difficult than 2025? I will first say, absolutely. No question about it in my mind. Non-conference: Texas State Ohio State UTSA ... all in Austin. Texas State and UTSA are better than any of San Jose State, SHSU or UTEP. SEC 9 game schedule: Road games: at LSU (Lane Kiffin year one) at Tennessee at Missouri at Texas A&M Neutral: Oklahoma Home games: Florida (Jon Sumrall year one) Arkansas (Ryan Silverfield year one) Ole Miss (new coach year one) Mississippi State (QB is going to be a problem for folks)
  8. No they shouldn't with a total implosion of their coaching staff lol Why are we still acting like this is about who the most deserving teams are. Ole miss is not the same ole miss if half the coaching staff is gone
  9. Not Gerry but I’d get one veteran insurance RB in the portal that buys you half the season while Cooper gets up to speed. You can’t go into Ohio State game in austin expecting a freshman to carry the load. Wisner will be a great change of pace but we need a dog who runs hard between the tackles.
  10. (This is all eye test based, no mathematics are involved lol) Okay obviously Texas will most likely not get into the playoffs this season after the chaos didn't go our way, but we still just maybe might have a sliver of hope to get in after conference championship week. I know this is a shot in the dark, but say Alabama and BYU both lose next week, that virtually opens up one more at large bid assuming Virginia can beat 7-5 Duke to become ACC champions and get a bid for the playoffs. Also if Ohio State beats Indiana it would only boost our chances to be in. So, this in my opinion would be the seeding after next week, 1. OSU 2. Georgia 3. Indiana 4. Texas Tech 5. Oregon 6. A&M 7. Ole Miss 8. Oklahoma 9. Norte Dame 10. Texas 11. Virginia 12. North Texas. Some articles say even if Alabama (10-3) loses they most likely get the last nod over BYU (11-2), Miami (10-2), Vanderbilt (10-2), and Texas (9-3). In a way I can see how the committee has every right not to put us in after finishing 9-3, but like coach Sark said it would be a disservice to the sport. It would virtually mean wins and losses are the most important aspect when it comes to the playoff. Texas in my honest opinion would dog walk every team competing for the final spot. But, because they have more losses the committee and the CFB world doesn't seem to believe so. Anyways like I said it's a shot in the dark, probably wont happen. Just glad we finished the regular season on a good note and hopefully smother whoever we get scheduled to play in our bowl game. Hook'Em.
  11. I’d say a total staff implosion would have an impact on the selection committee.
  12. I like Kiffen, but after all these years and incidents, he still prefers the drama.
  13. Ole Miss is in the playoffs and should be regardless who is coaching the team
  14. Which, in my opinion, is huge.
  15. With not only Kiffin leaving but other coaches they might actually be left out of the CFP
  16. Apparently Kiffen told told his assistants if they’re not on the plane today they’re not coming later.
  17. @Gerry Hamilton Real smoke about Ole miss coaching staff imploding right before the playoffs... Would they get left out? Would that give Texas a chance to get in?
  18. Updated ... Total openings throughout carousel (19): Florida - hired Jon Sumrall LSU Auburn - hired Alex Golesh Penn State UCLA Virginia Tech - hired James Franklin Arkansas - hired Ryan Silverfield Stanford - hired Tavita Pritchard Cal Oklahoma State - hired Eric Morris South Florida Oregon State - hired JaMarcus Shephard Colorado State - hired Jim Mora Jr. Tulane Memphis North Texas UConn UAB Kennesaw St. - hire Mark Carney
  19. SIAP - Where do you think Bishop lines up in September?
  20. Spring ball will def give him the opportunity. I believe he's a football smart player. Not sure many HS RB's learned a system as quick as Baxter, and thus prepared in pass pro to that level. He's was so rare IMO
  21. BTW ... North Crowley and Allen coming in 6A DI Region I final this week Waxahachie and Kohen Brown will meet Duncanville High this week in 6A Division I Region II final. Waxahachie beat Duncanville in district play. Samari Matthews and Hough High (N.C.) advanced to the 8A State Championship game vs. Millbrook High to be played December 11. ----- Carrollton High (Ga.) beat Grayson High (Ga.) 34-14 ... the HS career of 5-star LB Tyler Atkinson has concluded.
  22. Very excited about both of these guys. Gerry do you think the learning curve will be high for Cooper? We would need him to learn to pass block to get snaps, so does that severely limit his ability to get carries next year or can he learn quickly ala a CJ Baxter.
  23. Still won't matter when you're at the bottom of the NIL totem pole in conference
