  1. Past hour
  2. Team is looking amazing right now. Seems like this group of girls have been so close for a few years now. Close it out!
  3. My wife went to Tech law school, so I agree with you. Unless they’re playing Texas… 😉
  4. This comment and some others on the thread leave me with one thought..."Where do I start?" And I will take the High Road while Hashtag and You fight it out for the silliness award. First the pitching was much improved over the last few years. No this isn't Clemens, Shiraldi, et al.......but it was much better than before. The pitchers' mechanics were much more consistent. They attacked the Zone. They got balls in play. Unfortunately, the problem with more balls in play was our middle infield. You can't sugar coat it. We need to be better at shortstop and second. Our middle guys make too many errors. I don't think this is a coaching issue, but rather a recruiting issue. If may just be an experience issue, but a David Williams clone would be sweet. The Spencer issue was HUGE. He is 1 of 2 Horns than were ranked in the top 100 pro-draft prospect....and they weren't top 50. Tennessee had something like 6 kids. Our Sunday starter should have been the Tuesday guy. As for hit batters, this is a direct result of the new style of hitting. Batters today dive into the ball more today because they are afraid of the outside corner strike. Batters also "coil" their hips more today which reduces batter mobility. But, Fans love the long ball and that style generates longballs. The result is the batter has less mobility and is generally not in a position to bail on inside pitches. It also doesn't help that the batters now have all types of protective gear on that takes the fear out of being hit.... thank you Craig Biggio. One last thought on the hit batter issue. I would like to see the stats on "us being hit by pitch" vs. "opponent being hit by our pitchers". I bet it was close to 50-50. Other than you not personally liking Tulo whatever the reason, I see no reason for him to leave. Texas was a very good hitting team. Our hitters had a consistently good approach. We scored plenty of runs. That is his job and he did a good job. (i think there is more to your Tulo issue than you are letting on)
  5. Whichever team we play…the crowd will be at least 80/20 against us. Tech fans travel well for events like this. And Tech would have the benefit of those with no vested interest that pull for the underdog, or are just there to see the biggest star. And some OU locals will still attend. But that’s no different than it has ever been in OKC. Just have to keep pitching and hitting well and hope our defense shows up.
  6. Agree. I like the 400 acres reference. Impressive for the Lady Longhorns to have 4 batters over .400
  7. Everything is bigger in Texas, even 40 acres.
  8. We’ve knocked on the door long enough. Feel like this is the year to kick the door in.
  9. Today
  10. Love it! Kavan has been en fuego 🔥 in the playoffs!! Great interview with Mitchell on OTF after she hit the 2 home runs last week. Mitchell talked about how great the chemistry and communication is. This team is special.
  11. Sure. Every other sentence? It’s the 40 acres! That’s iconic, don’t mess with that phrase. Say, “Texas has 4 400+ batters to lead off”. Say it 20 times, don’t repeat an iconic phrase wrong 20 times that has nothing to do with averages. It’s like when I tell a dad joke over and over again even though no one laughs. It was worn out.
  12. Having 4 400+ batters is a great accomplishment and must be recognized .
  13. We'll keep adding to this if new players are offered.
  14. Unlike most of you folk, I don’t really hate TT , as my grandson., son in law and best friend (3 separate people 🙄) all went to Tech. I do have some hate for OU so IF we had to lose it is no question who I would rather it be to.
  15. It's going to be OU again. So ridiculous they moved to the easier bracket.
  16. 4 400 and up batters to lead off games
  17. Why does the announcer keep saying “400 acres”? I know because of the batting averages, but it’s annoying.
  18. Tech will win one the games against BlowU
  19. What Mike White said after the championship series loss to Oklahoma last year sticks with me. While Texas was doing the postgame press conference as the losing team, Coach White said, “I’d like to be the coach in the next press conference one day.” He’s two wins away from finding out how the other side lives at the end of the title series.
  20. `This ESPN crew has been saying the "400 Acres" so often this week lol
