  1. Past hour
  2. Jaysoni Beachum recently followed Texas Softball, Texas Football and Texas Longhorn instagram accounts.
  3. Texas still does things the right way. Same with OU to an extent. Develop your home grown talent first and foremost. Bring in some transfers to compliment. tech just brings in basically a new team every year from the portal.
  4. Ruger. Could see Harrison in a late-inning/stopper situation.
  5. Rod Wright's scoop and score is still one of my all time Red River moments
  6. This is true. I truly believe that Texas/White improves and develops players anyway. Kaiah also started the year off extremely hot, but slumped during SEC play. But she got hot again when Texas needed it.
  7. Rodrique Wright . National champ ring gives him major bonus points
  8. I honestly don’t know the answer to that. She primarily played second base and catcher at Georgetown HS and was signed as a Catcher/Utility player. I know Baylor is very interested in her so it would not surprise me if she ended up there either.
  9. Also let's remember it doesn't have to be a big name with the squad they already have assembled - last year Altmeyer wasn't the big splash transfer name, but she had some key moments in the WCWS.
  10. I don't know her game, does she have the speed for the outfield? Have to assume she's got an arm playing catcher.
  11. Agree on all points. Editor of Softball America:
  12. Fair question and the answer would be no unless she's so good you can't keep her on the bench, however there's going to be sophomore catcher Anne Wallace as well; worst case Kate could catch but they probably want her at 1st base with her athleticism. If Swan's an upgrade over Wallace, they do it. Defensively we're definitely going to miss Atwood's prowess at throwing out runners and pickoffs.
  13. just got back from a cruise and catching up. who gets the ball tonight to start. Ruger or Harrison
  14. Serious question: you want Teagan throwing to a freshman? I don’t. I’d love an experienced catcher while the youngsters learn and grow. Softball America has also said some schools might want Swan to play in the outfield. I don’t know if that’s what Swan wants to do though.
  15. Today
  16. Totally agree. We are better than this. Don’t have to be a homer but we are all want success.
  17. Of the three, the most diabolical is Tech. If they can get Torres, they are booting Toney to the curb without a thought. Texas on the other hand will not; there's an open slot at 2nd base but if Torres is set on playing SS, then that's narrows it down. Of the three names you mentioned - Azua, Swan, and Torres, I think the least likely of the three for Texas is Swan. While Reese graduates, they have two highly touted youngsters. Azua makes sense because they need a solid LHP and potentially #2 behind Kavan. Torres if she takes 2nd or if Martinez moves to 2nd is a no brainer, but highly doubtful given how much money Tech's going to throw at her.
  18. Azua, Swan, and Torres would be a hell of a portal haul without going overboard like Tech has and risking too many players leaving. The possibility of being a contributor to a 3-peat and playing close to home as opposed to just chasing the biggest offer has to be appealing to them. We’ll see what happens.
  19. I second this. I tend to root for them to pull it together before posting negatively. But I've been yelled at before saying that's what the forums are for lmao 🤷🏿‍♂️
  20. Agreed, @tsip92
  21. Has Texas had a better sports week than 5/31 thru 6/6??? Probably not. Sun 5/31 Texas Rowing wins Natl Championship AND Texas Baseball sweeps Austin Regional. Thur 6/4 Texas Men's Golf ties for 3rd in Natl Championships AND Texas Softball sweeps Texas Tech for National Championship. Sat 6/6 Texas wins first game against Oregon in the Austin Super Regional. One more win puts them in their 39th (Thirty-Ninth!!!) CWS. And I don't know where we stand in outdoor track & field. Just a GREAT week.

  22. I am hearing Texas is in the mix as well. Apparently the top three are Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Texas. She isn’t looking for just the most money. She’s looking for the best culture as well. I found it interesting because all those schools return their middle infield. Texas Tech returns Toney at shortstop and Mia Williams at second base. Texas A&M returns KK Dement at shortstop but has second base open. Texas returns Vivi Martinez at shortstop but has second base open. Her sister Marianna left Texas A&M when Ford was there. Also Samantha Swan and Isa Torres played high school ball together at Georgetown which is about a 35 minute drive from Austin. They could possibly want to play close to home. Just like Madison Azua is from Round Rock which is closer at about 25 minutes from Austin.
  23. I understand the sentiment but I’m not a fan of starting threads specifically to sh*t on our own players.
  24. And they still won’t win. Maybe they should invest in a good coach instead. That’s when I will start to worry. Tech isn’t going to do anything more than they did last year. Last year was disgusting and diabolical. They have very few holes to fill. And, yes, I am very aware of the rumors. Speaking of rumors, there’s another school in Texas that will make things difficult for Tech regarding Isa. Tech isn’t the only one involved.
