Congress has done one hell of a job devaluing our currency. $200 is tough for lots of regular folks now. It is a shame.

Bringing Muschamp in was a no brainer for Sark. You have too make the switch. I don’t get why people have to sh*t on PK like he was terrible as a the DC. The guy fielded good defenses on the 40. Sark wanting to field a more attacking aggressive defense shouldn’t take away from the job PK did here on the 40.

Barry must be in his mid 80s now. He was a GA when Jerruh and Jimmy were players at Arky.

They started the scam during the Wilkinson days. Fell off for a while before Fairbanks got it rolling again. Switzer took it to a whole new level.

Once again proves my theory that Mannings love winning!!!

I thought PK was doing okay but that Georgia debacle when receivers were running wild open in the fourth quarter was sickening. Blame it on Akina but he wasn’t the DC, and if PK can’t coach both ends then, we need an upgrade. Vandy’s comeback? Florida was pitiful. I was traveling back from NYC that day and watch enough to know the defense was not up to par. I don’t know if Muschamp is the guy about like Ohio State fans did not know if their new hire was the guy. It worked out for them.

But, I love Sooner tears!!!!

If I understand this correctly, it means he is taking less from the University direct, however he can still take external NIL opportunities that probably pay better anyway (I.e. Redbull, WarbyParker, Vuori, etc) … still helpful because it theoretically leaves more local NIL, but my guess is he is still the highest paid player in CFP next year.

I dont think money was ever an issue. He could get paid nothing and that family wouldnt feel it. regardless, Its a smart move by him to assist in bring talent to austin. will only help him and the team in the long run.

We fell off defensively at the end of the year and Sark saw something he didn't like. We have to remember that we don't know all the factors. From the outside it looks desperate and an ego move by Sark blaming your failures on defense when you clearly had major issues with the QB, OL, WR, and RB, but I think Sark knows something we don't. I still think he needs help on offense, but I'm not sure he's ready to make that change.
-
I sure as hell hope not. Muschamp has proved he is a coordinator and not HC material at 2 different SEC stops.

Speaking of Ole' Spyin' Barry Switzer... I saw him on the TV coverage of the Alabama game last night and wow, Barry's got a lotta miles on him. I almost tuned out at 17-0 because I said "I'm not gonna watch this"... glad I hung in because I enjoyed watching zero U getting worse with each passing minute. You are correct about a portion of the Mobilehoma fans...saw them again last night on the broadcast... they have a certain kind of look about 'em!

Upgrade over anything on campus -
It's clear to me that the 2026 schedule demands a more aggressive style defense that flips the field in our favor. Bend but don't break gives me heartburn and gas.

Yeah, he must've bumped his head.

Get you a Latina @CJ Vogel you may wake up with a knife against your throat but they’re fun lol 😂 -
Not saying I dislike Muschamp or the move, but it feels like Sark is trying to scapegoat PK into being the reason this team didn't meet expectations. At least that is the feeling I get from the pressers and all that. Anyway, looking forward to seeing what Muschamp can do. I hope for our sake it pays off, because if there is a drop off, boy is that going to be tough to explain away.

I'll give credit to Sark for having the opportunity to upgrade and taking it. Additionally, he recognized Akina was a bad hire and rather than persist he failed fast and got rid of him. I'd be curious to understand how much of the defense's struggles this season can be laid at Akina's feet. A lot of Texas DB alums have positive things to say about Akina as a coach but as Jeff's post points out when Akina was given coordinating responsiblity in 2007 things collapsed then as well. It also appears he wasn't popular almongst the players either. Onward and upward

That part... self promotion drives up NIL and to think we wouldn't and it wouldn't be a factor is just downright dishonest.
