  1. I think he hit over .300 his freshman year so last year could’ve been some growing pains trying to tap into his power. It seems like the staff is confident he’s going to square up the baseball better next year.
  2. The sample size against SEC pitching is small but shows he has a chance to be successful.
  3. So Texas should defund one of the most historic programs in the country because you prefer basketball over baseball? How many national championships has basketball won? You want to turn one of the greatest programs into mediocre status to add to a sport who doesn’t carry the resume baseball does. Might as well go after swimming and softball too.
  4. Good win for the fellas. They got tested today and found a way to win a tough grind it out game. I'm sure it was a disappointing game to all the arm chair coaches who expect nothing less then 10 run victories. Hats of to UCSB they scraped all 9 innings. Time to get ready for one of the Oregon teams hook'em
  5. Ideally for me tomorrow, I’d like to see the combo of Ruger, Burns, Leffew, Crossland, and Cozart close it out.
  6. I thought they might pull him after 90 pitches if he has to go on short rest next week in the opener
  7. His pitch count has past the point of being able to pitch the rest of the weekend so save your arms for tomorrow and possibly Monday. With Ruger and his shoulder tomorrow might be a shorter outing for him. Having all the pen arms available would be a good thing.
  8. It looked like the discomfort was when he raised his arm above his head so it might still be possible for him to swing without some discomfort.
  9. Instead of shuffling the whole infield around, I’d look at moving Gumbo to short and leaving everyone where they’re at. I always thought he was solid defensively but the bat kinda held him back. Just spit balling here but Gumbo is already in the lineup and you have Larson on the bench opens up DH for the young catcher his name escapes me at this moment.
  10. I thought the same thing especially with Burns who right now the second inning of relief has been his kryptonite
  11. Nice response by the guys after the Friday night game. I saw Winter was out this weekend curious how they attack Tuesday. I wouldn't mind seeing Grubbs get the start to see if he can work some things out. We need that guy who can bridge a tight game to the ninth. Cozart looks like he might be able to do that. Would be nice to have another multi inning guy back there.
