  1. Past hour
  2. I feel in a way this loss is best case for Arch considering he was the let down. The boys played well around him. I think it lights a fire and alleviates the pressure to a degree. It elevates it to win but lessens it for a Heisman. Let him take live reps and grow so his next big game he's ready. I thought he would have been ready entering year three but sometimes you're too ready. You want it too much and you press to show who and what you are so quickly you lose sight and track of what actually makes you an asset. That's life experience, growth etc. He settled in a bit and that deep layered throw to Endries was like Peyton. I was pissed and frustrated watching the game but with Gods grace a night of sleep allowed me to see the big picture. This is a damn well rounded football team and Arch is his own worst critic, he will be a big time player for this University.
  3. Ohio State LSU MiamI Clemson Notre Dame Texas (right now our QB isn't good-Expect him to improve as season goes on)
  4. Everything has to be in context as far as drops etc. Julian Sayins line wasn't impressive but he won. Sometimes no mistakes get it done. I used to get upset with Daunte Culpepper with the Vikings because on third and 13 with randy moss he'd throw a four yard out. Stats looked nice but he was so much less potent than randall cunningham and Jeff George were. Stats can lie for a qb. Got to know when and where to find your playmakers. End of the day all that matters is winning so unless its baseball a box score doesn't tell me much about a qb.
  5. A and M will always look for the negative. Flush it. If we looked great and lost a heartbreaker would still be 0-1. Sometimes its beneficial to be rightfully put in place. The measure of a champion is the response. Go Texas and Texas 8-4 will always be silly when Texas has a lapse.
  6. endries is 88, Spencer shannon is 83
  7. For weekly poll Ohio State LSU Miami Texas Clemson Notre.Dame Long term this season Texas Ohio state LSU Clemson Notre Dame Miami
  8. Was there less motion in practice? Its confusing because the Publics leading heisman candidate was Texas weak link on the field. You could argue arch was their worst starter. I get it, its a tough road game, we flush it. I always felt Quinn was underrated because like Tom Brady he was unselfish and money on short and intermediate. Take what's there and let the other teams dumb dumbs make the mistakes. Arch was lucky not to throw a second pick. I chalk it up to inexperience and think his ceiling hasn't changed from prior thoughts. However, I have to ask has short and intermediate passing been a struggle for arch throughout his practice time at Texas, its clear he has Michael Vick downfield passing.
  9. I can't see ND ahead of Texas. There's a big difference between OSU and Miami. Miami's defense isn't a high level defense. Ohio State Penn State Georgia LSU Texas Miami Oregon Clemson Notre Dame Arizona State Watched Gerry's boy Leavitt. He didn't exactly look like a world beater to me.
  10. What are you talking about as a fullback on dive you blow up any defender that's coming into or that's in the gap & everyone else has to do their job.. Neto is a run blocking guard, I know he didn't play much bud..
  11. The counter was kicking them short. The ideal solution is to have a second guy back. Unless you like the kamikazee return specialist.
  12. Before the game everyone was saying just let Arch run it on the goal line. Sark let him run it, but it didn't work. In Sark's defense, Arch had been successful running throughout the game, including a previous fourth down.
  13. What I think the actual rankings will be: OSU PSU UGA LSU Miami Notre Dame Texas Oregon (might be ahead of Texas) South Carolina Clemson
  14. Today
  15. I’m putting a lot of stock in Miami- Cristobal is an OL guy and their OL looks good, good WRs that can catch the ball, good defense, Beck looks back to 2023 form now that his receivers don’t have alligator arms. As long as they never have to kneel the ball this year they should be good.
  16. I disagree, if you hand it off to Baxter on the goal line, instead of having Arch run it, those are TD's. There was push there. Because they converted several 3rd downs via running the ball, which were 3&2, etc.
  17. The partial game stats just need to stop. I can see discounting 4th quarter stats if the 4th quarter wasn’t garbage time. It wasn’t. Ask Ohio State fans if they felt comfortable with Texas on the 50 with 2 minutes left. I wouldn’t have been. Honestly, I think I would rather have a guy in Arch’s position start slow and get stronger as the game went on, which is what happened. That tells me it was nerves and the guy is a gamer at heart. Starting fast and then fading is more alarming.
  18. Ohio State Miami LSU Texas Notre Dame Clemson Arch Manning will correct the issues he was having with easy completions. He is a better QB than the Carr guy. Texas also probably has the best defense in the country. Wisner looks like he will run for 1000 yds again this season and looks like we can get 500+ at least from Baxter. I could see both of them going for 1000+, honestly
  19. I believe the rankings should not come out until the middle of the season. The rankings as of now are meaningless.
  20. Actually looking at it closer, that looks like Spencer Shannon, #83. I think Endries is #88. But still, he was wide open on that drag route, the S or CB was being blocked in the end zone. All he had do was turn and plow into the end zone. That felt like an all game thing for him. He was barely under any pressure, even in this one, perfect OL block, has plenty of time, still makes the wrong read.
  21. The partial game stats comparison needs context. As Gerry himself pointed out, Patricia didn't "decide" to let Texas run all over them in the third quarter. Day didn't want to let Texas have a chance to tie the game late.
  22. Neto didn’t play that much. Stroh was better. I agree with you on trying the play call. My point is everything has to be executed. Any play can fail due to poor execution. I encourage everyone to go volunteer coach any sport, if you haven’t.
  23. He’s had a total of 3 opportunities in scoring range so far this season, 1 of 3 conversions for points, two 4th down stops. Against a playoff team on the road. Almost assuredly a top 5 team in the country at the end of the year Let’s give him a few more opportunities to see if we are actually improved this season. Sample size is a little small so far
  24. Yea Ohio State stuffed that play on a 4th down last year too
  25. If he looks to his left, he had Endries wide open, I believe.
  26. They actually aren’t. They’re based on the opinions of members of the associated press or coaches.
  27. Guess you’re just going to gloss over 4 years of poor 3rd quarters?
