  1. Past hour
  2. Haynes is a dude. I follow the draft pretty closely for offensive players because I am a dynasty fantasy football degenerate that plays in like 7 leagues.
  3. Good point. Makes me think they won’t have many opt outs if the team is in Orlando practicing, otherwise word would have trickled out on who isn’t with the team. Interesting
  4. Facts!!! Love it! Look last season alone neither OSU nor ND would’ve been in the BCS or the 4 team playoff.
  5. Disagree, we’re seeing bad football because these guys play such varying levels of competition early in the season.
  6. The current NIL rules level the playing field and create parity. Texas has the advantage of being the premier program in the state and residing in Austin which has a growing and relatively affluent economy. That opens lots of doors for private NIL deals for those athletes willing and able to pursue those opportunities. That has to be Texas' pitch to differentiate themselves from other programs.
  7. That's fantastic. The toy cop cars cracked me up.
  8. Some of these teams don't have a spot for a return specialist. It's an all-purpose spot, which KC Concepcion has been filling on most of these.
  9. https://247sports.com/college/texas/longformarticle/tracking-the-transfers-how-former-texas-football-players-performed-this-season-266713157/#2768328 J'Mond Tapp balled out at Southern Miss Jay'vion Cole had a good year at Arizona Brennan Thompson shined at Miss State
  10. Surely they are not outside in Ann Arbor!!! 🥶
  11. Finally some respect for Simmons. Not what it should be but.
  12. This isn’t some mystery spiral — it’s aztec roster math meeting the modern calendar. Two upper-class linebackers are heading to the draft. One multi-year starter hit the portal after being told next year wasn’t guaranteed. That leaves the bowl LB room looking like: one returning rotation guy, one hybrid who’s been playing out of position, a true freshman with almost no snaps, and a couple depth bodies who’ve mostly lived on special teams. That’s not “culture collapse.” That’s December. Short term, it means the junior LB is now the centerpiece, the hybrid finally gets to play closer to where he belongs, and the freshman gets tossed into the deep end with the lifeguard on coffee break. Everyone else is there for reps, survival, and résumé building. Long term, it tells you exactly what’s coming: linebacker just moved into must-add territory in the portal. You don’t let an experienced upper-class starter walk unless you’re either confident in the youth… or confident upgrades are coming. The bowl game itself? Secondary. This is an evaluation scrimmage with a sponsor logo. Learn who can handle it, learn who can’t, then go shopping on January 2. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got Cheez-It dust on my shirt
  13. Never got picked up by the national hype train.
  14. How is Ryan Niblett not an All-American?
  15. doubt they will care much because with the wins over the replacement they will get in the top 12 and get their auto-bid.
  16. False. We are already seeing bad football across the board due to teams knowing they have losses to give.
  17. Today
  18. Congrats to some absolute dudes
  19. The American Football Coaches Association FBS All-America Team is out, and three Texas players made the list. — Michael Taaffe (first-team defensive back) — Colin Simmons (second-team defensive line) — Anthony Hill Jr. (second-team linebacker) This is the first NCAA-recognized All-American team to have all three Longhorns on the squad.
  20. When I checked their schedule to make sure we were actually on it for those years I was surprised to see that in 2029 Notre Dame opens with Alabama, three weeks before they are scheduled to play Texas. Think what a hit it would be to their SOS if both SEC teams decide to cancel based on the CFP not valuing SOS highly enough.
  21. I'm assuming we're trying to not look petty by cancelling it days after the committee leaving us out.
  22. also, no one should schedule ND anymore until they join a conference. I'm personally in the "for" big OOC game camp, but I think we should cancel ND to make both points. 🤘
  23. We are going to “honor” the Ohio St and Michigan games because they are both to be televised by Disney / ESPN, who expects a huge ratings windfall for these games in the September inventory. The first two games against Ohio St and Michigan were televised by Fox, so now it’s time for Disney to get its cut. It’s also worth recalling that Disney paid a big “transition” fee to assist Texas and OU when we were leaving the Big 12 (negotiating the exit fees), and part of that transition negotiation was allowing Fox to televise the first two Texas vs tOSU and Michigan games on their network. So, I don’t think Texas is really in a position to not “honor” these return games and deny our benefactor (Disney) a huge payday. Not to mention, Disney owns the CFB Playoffs and its structure / committee process, so Texas shouldn’t be whining too loud about the CFB Playoffs (however justified).
  24. Sark said the same thing at his signing day press conference on Dec. 3, which is about all he can say right now.
