If Muschamp has effective (and imho most importantly consistently GOOD, not necessarily great) play from the ILB position and the pieces around have rush capability (and we do have this in spades), his defenses get so nasty. The QBs we're going up against this year are not going to know where the rush is coming from at any given moment. I would NOT want to be a drop-back QB with 'serviceable' speed playing the Longhorns this year.

Keep in mind the change this year: the committee will rank teams 1-32, and that ranking will fully determine the 1 & 2 regional seeds. So, if we (as the #2 national seed) have TCU as our #2 regional seed, it won't be due to any geographic considerations, but solely because the committee ranked TCU as the #31 national seed. This is a great change for the top teams (like us). FWIW, I'm shocked that D1.com thinks TCU is the 31st best team in the country right now. We'll see how the second half of the season plays out, but as of now, I would LOVE that TCU 2-seed for us.

I don’t know if the data backs me up on this but I feel like Ohio State rarely sweeps these marquee OOC series. OU - split Texas (mid 2000’s) - split Virginia Tech - split Miami - split USC - lost both Oregon - lost (they joined the conference so only one game of the 2 game series was played) That has me extremely nervous for this game in Austin. Unlike in ‘06, we don’t get to go against a true freshman QB.
