Expected since the announcement of his stroke. Being 75+ with a stroke and passing out at a random restaurant isn't best for his health. I assume this means they have their guy lined up. -
New Texas WR offer Aljour Miles update OnTexasFootball spoke with a source close to the recruitment of Kaufman (Texas) High fast rising 2026 WR Aljour Miles. Some key notes picked up … 1. The Texas offer is legit. Chris Jackson has had conversations with the family about locking in a June OV. 2. Miles and family are very open to adjusting the June OV schedule to ensure Texas is one of those weekend visits. 3. Miles is scheduled to OV to SMU this weekend. The June OV schedule currently has Texas Tech June 6-8, USC June 13-15 and Oklahoma June 20-22. 4. Miles and Kaydon Finley are the top in-state outside receivers on the board after a week of evals.

We knew this was coming, but it's still the end of an era in professional sports. -

Great coach. I don't care for him personally but he is definitely one of the best coaches ever. - Today

Great coach. Gave me a lot of great childhood memories and seems like an honestly good person. Sad day. -
Agree and well said. I’d feel the same about Ohio State if it weren’t for the fact that the Buckeyes lost even more talent than the Horns on both sides of the ball and also have 2 new coordinators plus a new OL coach. That’s a lot of change in one spring for the Buckeyes. Home field certainly works in their favor but Sark has proven he knows how to win big games on the road early in the season. Hard to believe it’s less than 4 months till kickoff. I hope all preseason polls going into game 1 have Ohio State #1 and Texas at #2 or #3. This season could have the feel of 2005 if we beat Ohio State to start the year.

Great post/thread! It's fun to digest thoughts. Before making a true comparison, it seems fair to say that - last year - the team was a good kicker OR a healthy Baxter away from likely being in the championship game (either because we have another play option on the goal line against Ohio State, or we're not facing them until the finals because we win the SEC Championship game). I'm not trying to re-litigate last year, but that very well would have been the scenario for the 2024 team with all the other compliments (including Quinn at QB). Even with all the talent, it's going to be tough for a team with a lot of turnover to win game 1 at Ohio State. I believe, if we stay healthy, by the Florida game this 2025 team WILL show it is a talented group. While excited about the new pieces (TE, WR, etc.), last year's team was talented enough to win the national title and overall with deeper experience at a number of positions relative to 2025. Schedule in 2025 remains favorable and I believe they have will show they have the talent to get to the championship, but I don't think we know until after the Florida game what this team will be capable of in 2025. The pieces are there.
