  1. Past hour
  2. I wonder if, for all the strides in the run game (and decent time for Arch in pocket), Sark yet trust the OL to hold their water for all the complicated pre-snap action
  3. Locked onto his receivers prior to every throw. Didn't seem to have timing or understanding of what would be available. Left a lot of guys open over the middle.
  4. @Jeff Howe I completely agree with your characterization of Sark’s game plan as “arrogant”. I had precisely the same impression that it seemed like he wanted to just line his guys up and see how they performed. That is a fine approach if you’re starting the season against SHSU. Against the defending national champs who just beat you by double-digits six months ago, it’s arrogant to the point of delusion. I understand that this loss doesn’t kill Texas’s chances to get back to the playoff, but the margin for error when you STILL have to play Florida, Georgia, OU, and A&M is now almost zero.
  5. I think not having film on Patricia at the college level or any kind of idea on his tendencies with Ohio State neutralized Sark’s ability to dial things up with the extra prep time. Even for Martindale last season, Sark had a week one game to watch to get some idea. And that game wasn’t a runaway for Michigan last year in week one either
  6. I think our WRs were overhyped
  7. Continued prayers Blake, I'm guessing the mad will be whether or not he continues to play or not? I don't know anything about Colt's condition or what's been going on lately, sorry if I've missed that.
  8. Ohio State barely had over 200 total yards of offense at home. They have the best group of pass catchers in the nation. Their analysts are very high on their OL. If you think holding tOSU to a little over 200 yds and 14 points at home is pedestrian, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Even though we didn’t get sacks, the DL had a big role in limiting both passing yds and (obviously) rushing yds. And the word you were looking for is “vaunted” not “vaulted”
  9. Arch doesn't process information quickly enough. All the great QB's have the abilility to process quickly. It'something that can't be taught. You either have it or you don't.
  10. I truly hope and think that arch and the offense will get better throughout the year. He definitely had the jitters and it showed especially with pocket presence and missing wide open receivers and it wasn’t even close. I’m just more pissed that we had more 1st downs, better on 3rd down, more passing yards, more rushing yards, more yards per run, and we lost the game due to 1 turnover, 35 more yards than OH State, and god forbid cannot get the ball in the endzone when you’re in the RZ. Blows my mind.
  11. Kinda feel bad for Arch, but he needs to dig in and earn his legacy and he knows it. He's done nothing so far. Talent alone will only get you so far, just ask Quinn.
  12. I’m so annoyed of this game and play calling. It was evident by the statistics that Texas was the better team. On a bright note, Graceson Littleton is going to be a star. Maybe the next great Thorpe winner.
  13. As I wrote, the pressure didn't get home, but they made a few things happen and did a great job against the run.
  14. Seriously? It's a massive blowout if our defense isn't probably the best in the country. I have legit concerns about what he is seeing happen if that is true.
  15. Manning’s misses were so uncharacteristic from what we’ve seen that I’ve got to believe it’s fixable. It seemed like he was just trying to throw with one bullet speed on every throw. I do think it will get better. I think he could have benefited greatly from a tune up game. Anything you could have NOT asked for a game as a 1st time starter QB, this had it. This has to be the worst “thrown into the fire”/pressure week one game for a guy in Arch’s shoes of all time. With how bad Arch’s game was, if Arch would have come through on that last drive and got another TD and sent the game to OT, that would have literally been a Heisman moment. I know it’s a what if. But with how much of a nightmare it was (and it was), we were much closer to talking about his performance in more favorable terms than people are letting on.
  16. Exactly, beat a total of one great coach into year five. 0-6 in the other matchups. Not great
  17. Did Brad Spence get in the game. I don’t recall seeing him.
  18. I thought oline played well
  19. The defense has outperformed the offense throughout Sark's tenure (except for year 1). It is very difficult, and rare, for a HC to be an elite OC at the same time. I don't think Sark can do it. He needs to find someone to call plays. It's no knock on him; it's almost universal that teams have separate playcallers. There's just too much going on simultaneously to not delegate that job.
  20. It worked for Day at OSU. But remember when asked after the ‘25 Semifinal exit he said that there is an aspect of calling plays that he loves and, as long as he's "decent at it," he will continue to do so. Unfortunately being “decent at it” doesn’t cut it against the UGAs and OSUs of the world. And it certainly doesn’t cut it when you can’t finish it off with points. It’s early but look at Florida State being up on Bama too! Norvell did the same thing this offseason
  21. Multiple penalties and botched blitz pickup on fourth.
  22. That game was there for us to dominate.
