  1. Past hour
  2. Good point, thanks. After the trauma of last year, they may be less likely to save money for competing against professional offers, even it if lowers our ceiling. "One in the hand is better than two in the brush" The other piece of context I'm fascinated by is the likelihood of an MLB/MLBPA lockout and work stoppage. Does that looming possibility send more HS draft picks to college this year than otherwise?
  3. 2028 Lancaster DB James Foster is up there as well. Texas is right in the mix for him after an appearance at the Texas Elite Camp.
  4. That was great recovery after getting beat off the line.
  5. The key thing to remember in this portal cycle is that Texas doesn't want to get burned by the draft. The staff took Moroknek and (more so) Freeman at their word last year and got left holding the bag. They had a connection with Ashton Larson through Nolan Cain and scrambled to find Pendergrass, which ended up being pretty important last-minute pickups.
  6. ... and on how much of the committed high school class makes it to campus. Some of those guys are real dudes. We're golden at the top, our needs are with the roles after our aces. For the spots around Walls/Winter/Crossland/McKernan, if possible I'd prefer high upside freshmen (who eventually turn into Volantis'es and Cozarts at the top of your rotation) over mercenary portal pickups. Let's save any pitching cash to put together good offers to the high school class and see who we can get to campus. If we do worse than expected there, we can throw cash at some portal guys in late July or early August (remember Leffew, for example, was a post-Cape commit last year—those guys exist).
  7. John Mateer is here. Get the Mateer/CJ edits going

  9. Where can I catch more coverage of this/updates? 214 seems like a hell of a jump in weight..
  10. Don’t be this … horrific throwing motion, dad running routes with gloves talk about wasting your time and money zero hope for this QB IMG_1446.mov
  11. ICYMI: WR Easton Royal weighed in at 214.2
  12. I wanna see JM III vs Easton Royal, ideally with Neimann Lawrence throwing the ball lol Preview of Texas practices the next three years, hopefully
  13. Pack, Sam Cozart and incoming transfer Linkin Garcia (Texas Tech) were named first-team Freshman All-Americans:
  14. No. They’re in a better position than most with Volantis and Cozart. What they need and who they target depends on how they project guys like Crossland, Winter and Walls.
  15. The Opening is ongoing in Oregon this weekend. Some clips and updates from the weekend in the thread below. Texas commits in action: — WR Easton Royal — CB John Meredith III — TE JT Geraci 2028 prospects • Top 2028 QB prospect Neimann Lawrence (uncommitted) • Lancaster S James Foster
  16. He'll save a ton of money by not needing a glove.
  17. Diron Talbert, his brother was also very good player at Texas, not sure of his #. He was #72 with the Redskins...as he played mainly for Rams and Redskins. Think they had another brother also play at Texas
  18. Stop worrying about his weight. He will be training and maturing and he will be at his optimal weight and speed, agility, flexibility, the right weight for HIM, and he will kick *** on the 40 acres! HOOKEM
