Stinger = a threat that can effectively hurt the other team. A deterrent primarily, but also available to use as a kill shot when executed effectively. -

Stinger is balls or guts. He knows his offense is waning in confidence so he’s trying to conjure up “eff it, show them who you are”. From arch chip to stingers to we don’t listen to the outside(while addressing the outside) is a diminuendo rallying cry. He keeps trying to fire them up when he needs to fundamental them up. No amount of gippering will save this team. I can’t help but think his outside life is impacting him. He just hasn’t been the same since last summer. I hope is personal world is good first and foremost. He knows football extremely well and I’m at a loss as to why he hasn’t done what’s necessary. 🤷🏽♂️🤘🏽 -
The fact that Skip Johnson won a natty at one of the few schools that prioritizes softball over baseball moves him into the top three for me. I give him the nod over Schloss for that accomplishment alone. Doing more with less.

It's the off-schedule playmaking. He doesn't want the offense to lose the ability to challenge a defense vertically when things break down either through Arch's legs or the deep ball. I'm fine with that if we had coupled it to power spread scheme almost identical to what MSST was running before Kamario got hurt. Unfortunately, we don't do that and far too often have two guys in deep routes out of 12 personnel while the interior gets mauled or a free rusher blast through on max protect. Is what it is. -
1. Probably the deep ball and running game for Sark. 2. 3 and outs

Cool but you'll need to lock comments before the pronunciation debate gets out of hand!

With the resources that Texas has, it should at the very least be in the top 25 if not the top 10 of oline's in college football. To not even be in the top 50 is beyond pathetic.

Christmas Day: Texas vs ou sucks fan thread
CandyceSipe replied to MBHORNSFAN's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I’ll be there with my Shiner Bock and ready to yell about ou sucks. Nothing beats this Christmas tradition with the crew. -
Just want to let everyone know that we have a new local sponsor. It's Berdoll Pecans. OTF members can get 10pct off all orders for pecans, candies fudge, beef jerky, etc., when they use the promo code OTF at checkout. I've been going to Berdoll for 30+ years and can speak to the quality. It's a gift I get my parents and in-laws every year (and I get some for myself, too). Website is http://www.berdoll.com So if you want a little taste of Austin, use promo code OTF10 and get 10% off at Berdoll.

The QB Strategy Next Year and beyond
HookemFromOkc replied to westx's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Even if we make the playoffs...Flood has to go....We have a historically bad O line. -
I agree. It will be interesting because he will have to change his tune about the OC role and let go of his buddy Kyle Flood. I understand the loyalty aspect, but there’s a line. OC is interesting because will he do it out of force or because he had a revelation? If it’s the former, it will be hard as a head coach to be successful.

What a joke
-
Would any one really trade Schloss for Skip Johnson? I like Skip fine but even with the national championship I wouldn't trade places.

If we go 8-4 he will make changes (including hiring a new play caller). You have nothing to worry about there. 9-3 and missing playoffs will probably force him to make changes as well. -
Terrible. Just terrible. lol
- Today

My original comment was related to him going 8-4 AND refusing to make changes. Do you think donors of the largest NIL collective in the nation would be ok with him running it back a 3rd straight year with no changes? Big programs like Oregon and OU have already fired their OC for underachieving.

Yes haha

No need to follow for Texas. Not at this time.

Did he mean "stinker"? In seriousness, probably the deep post and seam routes. Don't know of anything else that would be considered effective against the defense so far. -

Sark making changes vs replacing Sark isn't even remotely the same thing...how many other coaches have been to the final four 2 out of 3 years? I swear we are the most spoiled fan base outside of maybe Bama. -
I heard it was a shoulder injury and Texas’ stinger is Ryan Wingo.

I think the “stinger” is the weaponry individuals possess. Each individual would have a different “stinger”. Arch may be excellence throwing long or utilization of the legs. Simmons, pass rush. Biles freelance. Wingo YAC…etc OL…hmmm…bull fighting? -

I think Sark believes it's the explosive downfield plays. I'm not sure this team can execute those with the regularity of something that would also be described as bread and butter. What can they rely on every series or in crunch time? -
8 of top 10 from SEC... 🤘

In his mind, max protect deep shots. In reality, the defense is most scared of Wingo quickly getting the ball
