His son helped us win a CWS too. I often wonder if another family had a more cross-generational on-field impact than the Street Family. I can't think of another father-son pair that compares in UT history.

You cant enter the portal without eligibility. These players are being told they can get more in the portal, go out trying to get more and the places they want to go are being filled with players that arent demanding ad much ir are deemed higher value targets. D2 players are probably being replaced with d1 players willing to step down and d3 players they sre willing to role the dice on.

This is a pretty solid thought. I suspect the D2 and D3 guys were hoping for an upgrade. You likely do have more D1 guys hoping to hang on for an extra year. That’s more refusing to let go than crisis. You have seniors exiting and freshmen entering so it’s not like the total of spots are shrinking, as you mentioned.

This crap would be like watching Kobe playing against Duke in 2002. Guy had been the best player in the world since 2000. None of these crap CFP players are that good, but it doesn't change the principle. I'd rather watch women's basketball than a bunch of mid 20s guys play for a CFP national championship.

Assuming everything he said is factual, this is the perfect opportunity for the NCAA to reassert some power and/or boundaries... Come down HARD and maybe that deters things somewhat? I don't know what other choice they have. If you do little/nothing, then it's OFFICIALLY an NCAA endorsed free for all.
